John F. Kennedy’s Inaugural Address The author of this essay is John F. Kennedy and the title of this essay is (Inaugural Address). The Inaugural address is the speech that John. F Kennedy gave on January 21, 1961. This speech is about freedom; freedom for all. The Inaugural Address addressed many factors like helping the poor, loyalty, liberty, mass misery, alliance for progress and opposing aggression. Kennedy wants all nations to get along but “to those nations who would make themselves our adversary, we offer not a pledge but a request: that both sides begin anew the quest for peace, before the dark powers of destruction unleashed by science2 engulf all humanity in planned or accidental self-destruction. Lincoln’s Inaugural Address was delivered on March 4, 1865, as he took office for the second term. During the speech the Civil War was going on between the North and the South, and most of the soldiers consisted of slaves. Lincoln made it known that he wanted the war to end and he wanted “just and lasting peace”. My understanding of Lincoln’s speech is that he wanted the slaves to be free and remain free. Lincoln did not want war but if the war must continue then he will welcome it until every ugly and bad thing that has ever happened to the people and specifically the slaves be paid back but instead of a lash to the back a sword to the heart if necessary. Lincoln desired peace without retribution, a smooth transition back into the union. The war would be nothing without the African American slaves taking a stand and helping. The slaves were free and the end of the civil war would mean just
