Julius Caesar was an amazing generol in the military. His amazing military leadership skills are the main reason why he became the emperor. To become emperor, he had to defeat two other very gifted generals (Pompey and Crassus). Even when he was emperor, he still had a big influence on the military. The Roman military was very strong and loyal. This made Rome strong
and under his rule, Rome conquered all of Gaul and sort of Britain.
Julius Caesar did what seemed to be impossible, he transitioned Rome, the strong republic, into a total dictatorship. He did keep the senate, but took away a lot of it’s power. This transition didn’t happen overnight, but it took a great leader and hero to do it. This transition was a big one, and changed Rome forever, but it made Julius Caesar an even bigger hero for doing it.
Now, Julius Caesar was no angel, he did bad things and killed many people. He exerted his dominance with brute force, but it all paid off in the end. He also seemed to be very vain for putting himself in complete control. But, this was justified for all things were falling apart and Rome really did need a dictator.
Julius Caesar was an amazing emperor for the short time he held the position. He did so many things, both good and bad, and saved Rome. That alone is enough to make Julius Caesar a hero.
