I will present all my research at a seminar held by the university at the end of my senior year. However, while I appreciate this notion, I believe that it is not their burden to bear, and that it is my responsibility to finance my further education. By doing this, I can show them that they have done well in raising me and allow them to enjoy the rest of their lives and retirement and not have to worry about money. It is the least I can do for them after all they have sacrificed for

This summer I decided to do my senior project on mechanics and auto body detailing. During the processes of my senior project I learned many new skills. For example I learned how to weld and work on engines. I started working around May and saved up some money to buy myself a decent looking truck. I spent 2,200 dollars on my truck. Which I said to myself, “Wow that is very cheap” yet it actually wasn’t so much. After I bought the truck, I started driving it around and after a week of driving it I knew something was not right.…

Honestly, I know little to nothing about the cost of college, but I have seen the toll of it from my parents. With my sister already in her junior year in a state university, they’ve told me time and time again to save water and electricity to reduce the costs of the bills. When I asked about it they listed to me all the different types of expenses they’ve had to pay for my sister: housing, tuition, food, and clothing. As a high school senior about to graduate and about to go to college, my parents had to pool their savings and what other money they have so that they can brace themselves to support me as well when I continue my education. Although it will be me in campus doing all the work, the cost itself to get me there is a heavy burden…

The goal of your first major writing project is to connect your experience to an abstract idea or concept. The idea or concept you work with can be one that has developed out of your shorter writing assignments and readings for Sequence 1, but it can also be something new. In this project, you are free to incorporate the stories you developed from those earlier short assignments. Of course, if you use material from any earlier assignment, you will need to revise and reshape it so that it effectively communicates your idea. Your final draft of this project will be 4 to 6 pages.…

    A. In this project, both my knowledge from history and english were useful. In fact, the fact that I learned english since more than 10 years really helped me in the project. I could have a good text and I expressed myself well when I was talking in the video. For the history part, I learned some information about the conditions in the countries under the control of the Taliban. Also, we read the book of Malala in english. It helped us understand the harsh conditions in this part of the world (Pakistan and Afghanistan) and understand her point of view of the events.…

Being a big sister I have always been introduced into the basics of how to take care a children. For my senior project I chose the self-development option where I took a class at WITC on “Intro to Child Care.” The class had a Pass/Fail grading system. I decided to take the class as my senior project to expand my prior knowledge on childcare. Also I took the class to determine if I want to pursue a career in childcare so I would know what colleges to go to and what programs I would need to pursue. The initial goals I had before starting the class were to complete the class, to expand my knowledge and to decide whether or not to pursue childcare as a career.…

This is my second year at Winthrop. I transferred from Western Carolina University, and their English 101 class is like this course. It was about perfecting argument style writing, so I feel as though this class will partially feel like a repeat for me. However, we did not focus on learning to read, think, and write critically. I do believe this class will help with all of that, especially with reading. A lot of the time when I read, I feel like I am not understanding or comprehending what the author is saying very well. This could be due to lack of reading in the past several years, but also because of my lack of comprehension and critical reading skills.…

They help pay for older sister’s college tuition of about $15,000 per year, totalling $60,000 by the end of four years, and my cousin’s college tuition of $2,000 per year in the Philippines. Both my older sister and cousin unfortunately have not had received scholarships that lessen the burden on my parents. With my dream school of University of Texas costing about $26,626 a year with additional expenses, averaging about $106,504 in four years, I have become filled with dread on the weight that has been placed on my parent’s shoulders. Just thinking about the expenses my younger sister will have when she goes off to college in the following years brings lines of worry and…

    Middle School Reflection

Grade 6: In my opinion the sole purpose of middle school was so that all of the adolescent miscreants could be forced into one awkward prison. The proof was in the cafeteria, a minefield of strange social customs and noisy kids who seemed to enjoy nothing more than screwing up another person’s day. At least those were my thoughts when I first entered the overly powerful axe scented school. But at the table where I now sat around with friends new and old in all directions, my opinion was quickly morphing. Sure, most people were immature and concerned only with themselves, but here I was laughing along with them, perhaps I was simply pretentious and carping to see the flaws in the school.…
