Okay, Juror #3 is the angry father, and Juror #8 is the guy who stands alone in the INNOCENT vote, right?…
4. I believe this was an example of win-win negotiations. I feel this way because towards the end of the movie the other 11 jurors need to come to a conclusion based on facts that were given, and they had to use deductive reasoning to do so. The boy was acquitted with the charges dropped, as a result of the win-win negotiations.…

The film Twelve Angry Men suggest that The United States Judicial system is very unfair to the person being tried. In this trial, the defendant is being tried for killing his father. Some of the men in the jury are chosen very poorly. One example of them being chosen poorly is their past clouds their judgment. Juror number three had a bad past with his son which lead him to believe that all children are ungrateful and useless. “You're right. It's the kids. The way they are you know? They don't listen. I've got a kid. When he was 8 years old, he ran away from a fight. I saw him. I was so ashamed I told him right out “I'm going to make a man out of you or I'm going to have to bust you up into little pieces trying.” When he was 15 he hit me in the face. He's big, you know. I haven't seen him in three years. Rotten kid! You work your heart out.... All right let's get on with it.” This is unfair to the defendant because he's now seen as ungrateful and rotten to juror number three even before the case. The US should look…
"Despite questioning the ultimate fairness and reliability of the jury system, Twelve Angry Men is, at heart, a tribute to this system. Discuss.…

With eleven of his peers convinced of the accused’s guilt, Juror 8 faced the daunting task of not only persuading the jurors to move past their initial inclinations and prejudices, but also compelling them to deliberate the case in the full interest of justice. In doing so, the first piece of evidence he called into question was the murder weapon itself. According to the prosecution, the boy had bought it the night of the murder after being beaten repeatedly by his abusive father. They then claimed he had showed it off to some friends, headed back home to stab his father, and then finally returned a couple hours later to be arrested by the police. Also called into question was the testimony of the owner of the store from which the boy bought the knife. He not only attested to the fact…
“Jury nullification occurs when a jury returns a verdict that is the opposite of what the jury believes or the verdict it was instructed to return by the court” (Rottenstein Law Group, 2014). In the course of a regular criminal trial, the judge will hand down some directives to the jury. The judge will inform the jury that they should set aside any feelings that they may take personal and achieve a decision exclusively in light of the truth displayed at trial. However, juries overlook these directions and clear criminals who plainly disobeyed the law. Current lawful guidelines firmly disapproval jury nullification and restrict encouragements for a jury panel to nullify the law. Therefore, a legal counselor may not, even with the within the…
The kid would have to be guilty, there was enough proof to prove he was guilty. The kid should be guilty because there was so much proof that he was guilty that its ridiculous. If the kid wasn’t guilty he could have had so much evidence to prove he wasn’t including the pockets that had the hole in them or the movie ticket he had when he watched the movie at the theaters. He didn’t have the movie ticket so he couldn’t prove he was at the movies at the time of the killing. He didn’t have the pants or whatever he was wearing that had the holes in the pocket to prove he lost his switch blade in there.…
High profile cases being spread through the media attracting massive attention. Cases such as the Sean Bell shooting, Amadou Diallo, and these trials were spread all throughout television which sometimes doesn’t fall in the favor of the defendant. There are two types of trials a bench trial also known as a court trail and a jury trial. NYS procedural law 260.10, states that every criminal depending on the crime must be trialed with 12 randomly selected jurors. The bench trial is another term for a judge trial without the jurors. The bench trial is conducted in this fashion; both parties present their evidence or make their opening statement. After the plaintiff finishes presenting his evidence, the defendant presents…
Members of the jury, I will now give you many instructions that you should consider in deciding this case; all are equally important. Don’t pick out one and ignore the rest. Think about each instruction in the context of all the others. You must obey the instructions. You are not allowed to reach decisions that go against the law. In these instructions, the masculine gender he or him includes the feminine gender of she or her. You may take notes during the trial, but don’t overdo it, and don’t let it distract you from following the evidence. The lawyers will review important evidence in their closing arguments, and help you focus on that which is most relevant to your decision. I also caution you that any notes you may…
Jury selection are various methods used to decide who will be on the jury. The jury pool is initially chosen from among the community utilizing a random strategy. Jury records are gathered from voter enlistments and driver permit/state id. From these records, some people are mailed. They will be addressed in court by the judge and/or lawyers in the U.S. According to Shari Seidman, in some cases such as capital punishment, the jury must be death qualified. Jury procedures are taught in law institutions to law students. The jury chose is said to have been empanaled.…
In my first 7 weeks at West Career and Technical Academy, I have actually learned a lot. When I was about to go to school, I was worried about being the ‘baby’ of the school as a freshmen, crowded hallways, not learning my way around the campus, I wouldn’t get my homework done every night and many more things. High school is not as frightening as I thought. The map of the school is fairly easy to learn, it took a lot of time management to get all of my homework done every day, and I have made many new friends.…
