Kaci's Surgery Case
Kacie is having 100 seizures a day. Kaci’s parents should not allow her to have the surgery because they never know that something might go wrong during the surgery.
It would damage her left side of the brain. Language is controlled by specific parts of the left side of the brain. She couldn’t talk in a full sentence.
Half of her body would be useless. Her right hand is almost giving up. She was taking speech and physical.
She could die, blood clotting within the circulating system. She will lose any remaining sensation or muscle control in the extremities.
In conclusion I don’t think she should have the surgery because it’s too risky for her and her parents.

Although Chiari Malformation (CM) has been discovered over 100 years ago, this disorder still remains poorly understood. For instance, despite major advances in medical services and technology, central questions about the pathology and cause of CM lack clear-cut answers. Chiari Malformation type II, the most common form of the disorder (roughly 1 in 1000 births), is a rare and serious anatomic anomaly of the central nervous system (CNS), characterized by portions of the brain and brainstem protruding into the foramen magnum. This situation illustrates the point that surgery is the most effective treatment to stop or impede the progression of damage to CNS in patients who suffer from Chiari Malformation.…

In this paper I will be discussing a patient who at 49 years of age became incapacitated by a left sided cerebrovascular accident (CVA) following a motor vehicle accident. To keep her identity completely confidential, I will be referring to her as Mary. I will not refer to any medical staff or buildings by name for this same reason. Mary had two seizures while in hospital recovering from the motor vehicle accident (MVA). Mary 's recovery was progressing normally but was compromised by a CVA following the seizures which left Mary with a permanent disability. Mary can not walk at all. She can stand with assistance for clothing adjustments. Mary can not talk properly, she responds with "yes", "no" or "oh no". Mary is cognitively…
