Youth Activism Against Violence

Youth activism generally means youth’s direct or indirect involvement in a movement or causes to form/organize/bring a social revolution in the society without violent means. Youth activism is basically an issue/goal-oriented activism. Youth are participating heavily and taking lead roles in non-violent protests around the world. They are protesting against government corruption as well as war, crimes, child abuse, human rights, sexual and gender based violence, education, censorships, and right of information in all corners of the world. The positive thing about such activism is that it’s peaceful and mind shaking and gaining lots of sympathies around the globe. Use of internet technology and digital media has changed this game since the new generation has taken over. Back in 70s youth were indulged in violent protests in America, Middle East, Asia and Europe. The difference is that in old days media and technology was not there to bring out their anger and rage but now they have learnt how to tame their anger and express their feelings the other way around.
Nonviolent action is a technique by which people who reject passivity and submission, and who see struggle as essential, can wage their conflict without violence. Nonviolent action is not an attempt to avoid or ignore conflict. It is one response to the problem of how to act effectively in politics, especially how to wield powers effectively.

During the 70s violence was the only solution to resolve conflicts and achieve desired goals due to widespread of weapons, lack of education and lack of tolerance. Riots, civil disobedience and agitation were the most popular. No one ever thought of peaceful solution to problems than violence.
