Kennedy's Controversial Policy
One of his most controversial policies was his stance in support of civil rights. During his years as President, he propsed new civil rights legislatation, and used his power to enforce integration which was reinforced by the supreme courts ruling in Brown Vs. Board of Education. He used the National Guard to protect African-Americans who enrolled in segregated universities. Many groups throughout the south represented and opposed de-segrigation which made Kennedy an unpopular person.

Another policy Kennedy pursued was the halting of Communism in Vietnam. He started by sending 100 advisors, 400 special forces, and the CIA to help train the ARVN in South Vietnam. Not long after he commited 200,000 troops to the conflict which took more of a
