Killing the president is a bad choice and all the people that were involved in killing the president should be punished. George Atzerodt was told and forced to kill Lincoln, but in the end he did not, but he still deserves a punishment for being part of the group that killed him, but, he should not have a big punishment like most other people. I think George Atzerodt needs to be in jail for about 3-5 years, so he would not get in another group of people and be forced to kill someone again. Lewis Powell had to murder the secretary of state seward. They all didn’t have a choice, Booth was a tough leader and he was very strict about his goal.…
When the term assassination is used you usually think of murder for hire. Assassination is the deliberate killing of a person, often a political leader, usually for political reasons. Assassination has been used in the political arena for centuries; however it is not considered assassination when the countries are at war with each other. Do we really want to make assassination legal? Using assassination as a political tool would mean that if someone does not agree with a political leader’s political view, whether that political leader is foreign or domestic, that political leader would be a target of assassination. There are numerous conspiracy theories that suggest that a political leader such has John F. Kennedy was assassinated by his own country because of his political…
The assassination of Osama Bin Laden occurred due to cultural reason; however, it was justified. Osama Bin Laden discriminated against americans, he caused one of the most horrific terrorist attack in american history which is 911 and he killed up to 2977 people in one day. Critics, however, some may argue that the assassination was unjustified, due to the Persian Gulf war also known as Operation Desert Shield where american troops invaded Saudi Arabia and killed over a 1000 civilians and injured even more this is a valid reason why Osama Bin Laden would have a vendetta against the american nation he said “just like you kill us, we will kill you”(Mary Cummings2).The assassination of Osama Bin Laden occurred on May 2, 2011 over ballistic trauma…
Hitler’s reign was one of the worst things to happen in history. At the time many people were afraid of putting him to a stop; even so, a few brave souls attempted to assassinate him. His ideas were inhuman and many things he did were crazy. He was a callous man. There were many assassination attempts and Hitler never got severely hurt, near the end of the war people began to think he was invincible. Contrary to what many may think, assassination attempts were a needed repeating theme for Adolf Hitler due to his unethical thoughts and ideas; most of the attempts made were planned out well, but they had a few minor mistakes resulting in his continued plans and the death of millions.…
The Union won the Civil War, because the North had more people able to join the war, better economic to support the war effort, the North had experience and a credit history, and larger navy then the south. The North had “97% of nation firearms” (Carnes 378). The South had 9 million people with 3.5 million of the 9 million being slaves and unable to join the army. The North had 20 million people and were able to have former slave enlist into their army. The North had bigger and better navy then the South.…
Over his time trying to be in power and in power he did many cruel things. People have learned Hitler can be a very good “friend”. Of course Hitler attempted to go for president but was not the victor, Paul Von Hindenburg was. While Hitler was being a fake friends to chancellor…
Franz Ferdinand’s assassination was unnecessary as he was killed specifically for one group’s fame. The group of Assassins that have been planning the assassination for a few months were known as the Young Bosnians. Most were either peasants, immigrants, or rejected military that wanted to make a change. They’re public threats went unheard of and they’re group ignored, so they decided to plan a big assassination towards the biggest political figure in the country. His…
Did Adolph Hitler really commit suicide on April 30, 1945? Hitler is believed to have poisoned and shot himself along with his newlywed wife, Eva Braun, on April 30, 1945 while in an underground bunker in Berlin. Then, Hitler and his wife’s body were burned outside the bunker. However, many questioned whether this really happened so they have conspiracies on Hitler’s death. Three main conspiracies that really challenge Hitler’s suicide are that the skull found in the bunker did not belong to him, no shots were heard by bystanders in the bunker, and he had an imposter kill himself. So Hitler’s death may have been a hoax due to the evidence from several sources, showing that Hitler may have never committed suicide in that bunker and he had escaped from Germany.…
Society today has established numerous new types and definitions of the word “work”. The division of labor has shifted and advanced due to reasons such as globalization and gender equalization. Instead of having to stay at home and do housework, women now have options to pick the kinds of work that they prefer. Women nowadays no longer have to rely on their other half for living because they are capable and well educated. With these changes in social reformation, we have created numerous different family conditions and situations. Arlie Hochschild and Amy Chua discuss in their articles “From the Frying Pan into the Fire” and “Why Chinese Mothers are Superior” the different types of work that mothers have today. Both authors argue that despite some mothers may have to go out for work, parenting is still a form of duty which all mothers have. These two authors described the definition of work differently. However, both authors define their perception of “work” from the same perspective for mothers. It is difficult and complicated for women nowadays to successfully undertake their roles. They believe that the idea of work in today’s society has been broadened and enlarged due to social advancement and feminist reformation. Work can now exists in various forms depending on each and other’s situations. Parenting is indeed no different than working in jobs. For women in both Western and Eastern societies, the idea of work is an obligation. It can either be a job or parenting.…
In modern times, if a political figure is deemed unfit to oversee his or her duties, they are removed from office. Although impeachment appears to be vastly different from the act of assassination, Russ Baker, CEO of whowhatwhy.org argues that, “Assassination and impeachment have long been closely tied, as both involve the removal of a leader outside of elections. (Baker 14)” This statement is proven to be true in the case of Julius Caesar, whose long list of wrongdoings eventually lead to his assassination on the Ides of March. Caesar was killed by a group of some 60-odd Roman Senators who stabbed him to death. The assassination of Julius Caesar was just due to the fact that he was a vengeful tyrant that became much too powerful after…
It is remembered that the impact after World War II to the black minorities was still the segregation, discrimination, and exclusion; they struggled to occupy a space in the society, they suffered compared to the White Americans, they have separate place to travel, eat, drink and worship, they are not allowed to go to the same establishment. They do not have the same privilege after WW2; more so, their rights are abused and neglected, they are not accepted simply because of the color of their skin and African ethnicity that they are treated harshly and stereotyped as slaves or servant. Only a few men who joined the war have some privilege because of their contribution, but most of the black are discriminated to gain the same privilege as the…
Since 1933 and on, anti-Jewish propaganda had gone all around Germany. Under the direction of Joseph Goebbels's Nazi Propaganda Ministry came out with a tone of leaflets, posters, newspaper articles, cartoons, newsreels, slides, movies, speeches, records, exhibits and radio pronouncements. As a result, the accusations, denunciations and opinions which Hitler first talked about in his book, Mein Kampf, had become made apathetic and dependent after a long period, accepted as time-tested beliefs by all Nazis, taught and learned as fact to impressionable German kids, and drove into the minds of eager-to-please SS recruits. Of particular note, was Hitler's often said that Jews everywhere were taking part in an international conspiracy to get world domination. In a speech given by Hitler on January 30, 1939, celebrating the sixth anniversary of his rule in Germany, Hitler added a severe new warning: "If the international Jewish financiers in and outside Europe should succeed in plunging the nations once more into a world war, then the…

A powerful leader being assassinated is not new in the history of the world. Some have been powerful and some have not. President John F. Kennedy is maybe the most famous in the history of the United States, except maybe President Abraham Lincoln. The murder of Julius Caesar is one of the most famous and popular too. The debate is whether he should have been assassinated or not, depending on what you think he was doing within the empire. It is true that Julius Caesar was changing the republic into an empire, but is that reason enough to kill the leader of that change? I don't think he should have been assassinated.…
The meaning of assassination is restore the Republic, but the Republic had been composed by Caesar. He settled works for governors and senators for many years before his death. “Caesar that benefited individuals and groups could not be rescinded” (159 Mackay). Caesar was intelligent leader that organized his country well so even the after death, Republic could have a straight drive on the road base on Caesar’s plans. “They completely miss lead situation” (159 Mackay). Even after death of Caesar the Republic ran well; the Conspirator did kill tyrants but the outcome was idleness. “The conspirators expected the republic simply to start functioning again”(159 Mackay). They simply thought restoration is not a problem but worstly Roman didn’t…
