King Henry VIII: Monologue Of King Henry V.

I suppose I ought to tell our whole story before you would, and could, understand why we have the Royal Guard on our backs, and why we need this refuge of sorts. It all started when King Henry VIII was born. His Majesty was born January the twenty-eighth the year of our Lord 1491 (Henry VIII). Henry was never really meant to be king, his older brother Arthur was. Arthur was taught how to be a king ever since he was old enough to understand it, he was even betrothed to an advantageous girl, Catherine of Aragorn, since the age of two (Henry VIII). Henry on the other hand was taught theology, music, languages, poetry, and sports, and was being pushed toward a church career. (Henry VIII). In November of the year of our Lord 1501, Arthur married
She was always needing another dress or just needing something else that Mrs. Bennett was required to do other than just the normal everyday things that had to be done. Mrs. Bennett needed help, and I needed a job. I was only six at the time, but I knew how to clean and work hard. My family never really cared for me much, so as soon as I was old enough they left me on the street in London. Mrs. Bennett took me under her wing and treated me as well as she could. I was her daughter and she was the only mother I knew. Soon I was working all over the castle instead of just what Catherine Howard or Mrs. Bennett told me to do. I made lots of friends and was soon best friends with Isabell, another servant. We both did all of our chores as quickly as possible just so we could play in the courtyard. By the time we were ten, we were brave enough to go farther outside the palace. That’s when we met James, a stable boy. The three of us became the best of friends. We would help each other, get in trouble together, and play together. Eventually, as we got older, we couldn’t play as much but we still talked as much as possible. Also, as time passed, we didn’t get paid as much, something about Henry almost going bankrupt or something like that
