Kingdom Of Heaven Analysis

Kingdom of Heaven is an interesting movie. It is about defending Jerusalem, and took place during the crusades. Although, there are some historical inaccuracies. One of the inaccuracies is the longbow being used in the movie. Another one is Balian being an only child. The last one is the steps to knighthood. Most of the movie is true, but there are several mistakes. I think Hollywood might have done this to make the movie more interesting and exciting.

One of the inaccuracies is that they were using the longbow in the movie. The longbow was used in the 1300s by the English military. In the movie, they were using the longbow when they fought. A lot of people were using it. Kingdom of Heaven takes place in the 1200s. So, the longbow could not have been in the movie. Nobody used the longbow yet.

Another inaccuracy was that they showed Balian as an only child. They showed him with no brothers or sisters. Balian really did not have any sisters, but he did have two brothers. His brothers names were Hugh and Baldwin. Hugh and Baldwin were not in the movie. Also, Baldwin loved Sybilla. In the movie, Balian loved Sybilla. This is another inaccuracy in the movie.
There were five steps to knighthood. Step one was the right connections. This step says you have to have good combat skills. Step two was upbringing, and you had to have good manners. Step three was the page, where you would have to assist the Lord. Step four was the squire. This was one of the most important steps. You learn about chivalry, rules of Heraldry, horsemanship, and using weapons. Step five is the last step. There would be a ceremony to become a knight. It would take years and lots of time and work to become a knight. In the movie, a lot of able bodied men were gathered together. Balian knighted all of them in just a couple of minutes, which would not really have
