King's Island-Personal Narrative
I was shuffling through my photos to arrange them into an album when I came across a particularly indelible one. As I peered at it pensively, my palms began to sweat and butterflies filled my stomach. The picture that solicited this response was a memory from the day I rode the biggest roller coaster at King’s Island. When I conquered all of my fears and rode the Diamondback. That summer day in 2009 had started off innocently enough. It was sweltering and humid, but my sister and I were still adamant on going to King’s Island, the biggest amusement park in the area. I had approached the emerald gates of the park blissfully unaware of the harrowing experience that lay ahead. We began our time at the park by riding the Spider, an ebony colored carnival ride that spun you around in circles until you became nauseated. After that sublime experience, we walked around the park for a bit to shake off the vertigo that plagued us and to find a prospective next ride. In fact, we were moving along splendidly on the taupe brick path that snaked through the park when my sister braked instantaneously, consequently causing me to trip over her heels. She pointed to a strategically dilapidated wooden sign and declared, “That one is next,” I was filled with frightful anxiety when I saw the sign she …show more content…
Meanwhile, my sister smiled gleefully in the seat beside me and exclaimed, “You’re going to love it.” I glanced over the edge of our car inadvertently and caught a glimpse of the buildings beneath me, they had shrunk to become microscopic in size. Nevertheless, I had no time to panic because we had made it to the summit. I screeched at the top of my lungs as the our cart was slung over the other side of the hill and my stomach dropped through the center of the Earth. The rest of the trip was a blur of twists and queasy

Deep within the heart of New Jersey, the world-renowned Kingda Ka towers over the lofty peaks of Six Flags Great Adventure Amusement Park at a staggering height of 456 feet. The vehicle’s whimsical blue and green hues contradict its terrifying and thrilling nature. The incredible speeds of the roller coaster certainly provide enough of a thrill for the most daring adventure seekers. The winding path that the ride takes as the machine makes its way through the sky resembles the body of a snake as the animal slithers over the jungle floor. The turbulent trolley’s precipitous drop strikes fear into the hearts and minds of all riders that decide to meet the coaster’s challenge. Screams of terror and…

I relate to this story very well. I am sort of like Tom where I like to go out and have fun, but somehow get in trouble. I don’t know if I would go and steal gold coins, although it might be enjoyable. I think it would be fun going out with friends and stirring up trouble. It would also be great if I could get someone to do my chores and work for me. Tom seems like he has so much fun on his adventures, even though he does some things he is not supposed to do. Tom and I are sort of alike, we both hate school just want to sit outside or go on adventures. I also would like to live back in his day, no TV, internet, not even a phone your entertainment is going around the town. Back in those days you would have no fear of robbers or even murders,…

Climbing into the lime green car, my fear was over taking me. I was getting ready to ride the Titan, an adrenaline pumping roller coaster ride at Six Flags. It was easily the scariest ride at the park, in my opinion, with its enormous peaks, its deep descents, and double helix like turns was enough to make me sick. The ride began. Ascending up in the car on the canary yellow track, into the humidity filled, bright sky, the people observing from below resembled little army ants . The aerial view of Dallas was breathtaking, as I reached the peak of the ride and looked around. Passengers occupying the cars in front of me started falling off, like a cliff. I let out a high-pitched shrill, as we plummeted toward the Earth below. Traveling…

Screams pierced through the salty, humid, California air. Intimidating rides towered above me, even the thought of riding them terrifying me. Thundering waves crashed as a backdrop for the “Belmont Park” sign that about touched the clouds. Excitement and anticipation coursed through my veins. My palms turned clammy and we made our way through the never ending line to get our tickets. Wafting through the light breeze was the sweet aroma of funnel cakes, cotton candy, and hotdogs. Looking around me I knew one thing, I was determined to go on the three most daunting rides, the Giant Dipper, a hair-raising roller coaster, the Beach Blaster, sickening my stomach at the thought of it and lastly the dark looming room of extreme laser tag.…

The journey to Mooney’s Bay felt inevitably long as I was anxious throughout the whole trip. We finally arrived at Mooney’s Bay and towed our toboggans up the hill. On my first ride down the hill, I shut my eyes as tightly as possible. I felt wind cutting across my face like a knife as we charged down the hill like horses without reins.…

Back when I was a littlun, my daddy worked in the meat factory and mama stayed at home cleaning the house and making me my dinner. My parents wanted me to be a smarty, so they made me go to school. They also said I was a good singer, so I decided to join the boys choir. Me and my best bud Charles would go down to the river to skip rocks, but sometimes we would go play chicken on the railroad tracks. Sometimes daddy would say “Stephen, wanna come a huntin with me?” and I would tag along behind him while he hunted for pheasant. I never really listened to daddy’s rules, so he decided to send me off to some fancy boarding school. It was at this point in my life where everything started taking a turn for the worst.…

Two friends and I climbed out of a car, stretching our legs and gathering our luggage. It was Sunday, and the end of our two day journey from my hometown in Connecticut to The Summit, a high adventure/service Boy Scout camp in West Virginia. We have to!”, as I pointed to the gigantic blue and grey water slide, my mother's face scrunched up with disgust. For she doesn't like roller coaster nor huge water slides, exactly like this one just yonder. She turned back around and told my brothers and me to put some pep in our step so we can get to the rides, as if she didn't hear a word I just said. As my family moved along, I trudged behind because I knew we weren't going to the enormous water slide. After we went through the park and rode the other little water rides, and roller coasters, and of course the lazy river we decided to call it a day and head home, but since we were on the other half of the park, to walk back we had to pass the huge, terrifying, grey and blue water…

I looked to my left and then to my right slowly moving forward. I could hear the faint sound of voices through what seemed like endless tunnels of my reflections. I could even hear my older sister giggling off in the distance. I put my hands out in front of me in order to protect myself from any unexpected stopping points and one face plant after another I made my way through the maze of mirrors at the Museum Of Science and Industry in Chicago,Illinois.…

In the morning of this beautiful cloudless summer morning, I never thought I would come so close to such a near-death experience. The drone of my phone on my desk was loud enough to wake me up and get me to jump out of bed to read the message my friend Ben sent me. “Let’s go to the lake I’ll pick you up at 11.” I run to my clock to see the time to realize I only have 15 minutes to get ready. I throw on some swim shorts and grab something to eat as I hear the honking of my friend’s semi-new looking car that his dad recently bought him. “Let’s go!” he yelled. I jump into the passenger seat, to see my friend ben, a lanky, pale, blond haired boy. Surprised he could even fit in the car; we start driving toward the lake, and notice the buildup of traffic. “I know a short cut we can take” as he turned into gravel logging road. “Let’s see what this baby can do!” I didn’t know much about bens driving skills but what I did know was that he loved to go drifting. As he cranked the E-Brake we turned the corner, rocks hitting the car like a machine gun at a war. We came toward a bridge as he pulls the steering wheel straight nearly hitting the concrete blocks on the side of the road. “That was close he yelled” frightened for my life, I tighten my seatbelt preparing myself for a collision. “One more time!” he yelled as we were tossed back and forth inside the car. There was a river ahead we didn’t notices, due to the large amount of bushes and ferns growing around. As we hurtled towards this unknown pit of death the car begins to spin out of control, dust covering the air and making it impossible to see, ben steps on the break…

It was a sunny day and my mom finally let my older sister and I go to Six Flags alone. Little did I know, we weren’t going to make it to Six Flags at all? When I got on the CTT Bus I couldn’t wait- it would be my first time on the goliath. “Last stop everyone off” yelled the bus driver. When I got off I mentioned to my sister “This does not look like Six Flags” “I think we missed our stop and we are lost “she answered. I started to look for any thing I noticed. But all I saw was two large buildings and lots of people.…

“Wooooshhhhh!!!” At blast off, California Screamin, took us through twists and turns, with an upside down loop. People were screaming their lungs out when the steel roller coaster soared into the air like a rocket. The terrifying speed made my toes curl and the strong wind pushed my head against the rubber black seat. I cried bloody murder on the coaster as it fell plumb down almost touching the ground. All too soon, it was over. After I got off of the thrill ride, I found my haggard look with disheveled hair through a snapshot picture. This is simply too awful to contemplate.…
