How I Met Your Mother 8.13 “Band or DJ?”

Introduction:

Barney starts dating Robin's co-worker Patrice until he reveals how that was just a cover to prepare his marriage proposal to Robin, which she accepts. This leads to complications including Barney meeting Robin's father in order to get his approval and Ted having to come to terms with the fact he and Robin have no romantic future together. It is revealed that Ted first saw his future wife playing in the band at Barney and Robin's wedding.

Results:

This past Monday, the new “How I Met You Mother” episode came out, and it was the first episode or the year after the seasonal break, and I was really excited about it.

This episode was centered in what happened after Barney finally proposed to Robin and they got engaged. It is mainly based on how Ted felt about their best friends engagement since in past episodes he confessed he still had feelings for Robin. He seemed to be happy about his friends, although it was a difficult situation for him. Ted offered himself to help with the wedding organization, which led to a discussion between Lily and him about whether to book a band or a DJ to play the music.

In the other hand, Robin was struggling with the idea of Barney, her fiancé, asking her father for permission to marry her. This brought both of them more problematic situations when Robin’s father came to New York because they didn’t had a good relationship. Also, at first, her father didn’t agree with the engagement which made difficult to Robin and her father to get closer. Beside this, Lily and Marshall were having problems with their newborn baby because he couldn’t stop crying.

At the end of this interesting episode, Ted confessed he didn’t want their friends to get married because he thought Robin should be with him. Lily admitted she didn´t like to be a mother sometimes, because she had to give up her dreams of becoming an artist. Robin’s father apologize to her and
