The Mikaelson's could choose to stay out of it and be fine. Inadu would have followed Hope and Hayley. I'm wording it that way because Hayley was constantly blaming them - especially Klaus - for something he had no control over. He didn't know his mother made a deal with his aunt nor did he know his mother would try and kill his daughter even when she's dead. Yet, Hayley was acting as if it were the Mikaelson's fault when they can't help who they're related
