This comes with the creation of the “Klu Klux Klan” which is a hate group that violently acts towards people of color. Does hatred still exist? Is it more powerful than time or knowledge? These questions could be debated in many areas from our highest court in the nation to our local official offices. The grip of hatred and its evil effect far outlives its perpetrator. The KKK was created to promote the white race as the supreme race. They used bombings, fires, and lynching to intimidate African Americans and also white people who wanted to help them. This ideology influenced government to turn a blind eye to their crime.…

Segregation has changed the nation and how people have been treated hundreds of years ago. Separation of race and isolation of color was a challenge that America faced. African Americans were removed from Caucasian schools, bathrooms, parks and more. Since they were a different color than Caucasians they had to go to the “colored schools” and “colored bathrooms”. The colored protested and fought for their rights and freedom.…

King serves as an inspiration to countless citizens, including me as he seized on a ginormous problem in his life and tackles this dilemma. Today, racial discrimination is it’s known name; Dr. King didn’t admire the unfair inequality some people received even after the Civil War that was fought for no slaves and equality to everyone. “To that end, he traveled the world proclaiming his vision of the "beloved community," and defining racism as a worldwide evil.” (Martin Luther King’s Dream of Racial Equality) Dr. King knew the importance of the matter at hand and with his infinitely powerful speeches, he motivates the entire world to undertake some change about the inequality. Wars today in other countries are often fought for religious freedom or other troubles that are about church. Racism, a worldwide problem, is a matter we can start solving little by little if we just choose to glance beyond skin color, religious beliefs, and other attributes that some people judge separate us to choose how we treat them based on their personality and overall how they are as a person. Dr. King’s inspirations also changed what others thought concerning equality, which shows he’s just as easily going to be an inspirational man to several people now and in the future of the…

Imagine that you are an African American living in the south during the 1960’s. During this time segregation would have been a daily problem for you. Segregation is when people are separated based on things like gender, race, or skin color. In the United States, from the end of the Civil War until 1964, people were separated by race. For example, white and black people could not attend the same schools, go to the same pools, movie theaters, or restaurants together and they could not use the same bathrooms and many other public places together too.…

In 1942, a man named Adolf Hitler carried out what is known today as one of the world’s most violent racism acts (“Intro to Holocaust”). He blamed the Jewish people for the German economic crisis (“Intro to Holocaust”). Hitler devoted his power as chancellor of Germany to lead a racist movement in order to hunt down, capture, and take the lives of over six million people of the Jewish race (“Intro to Holocaust”). Furthermore, during the Civil Rights Movement, Martin Luther King Jr. played a vital role in clearly defining a vision for the future regardless of an individuals’ race. In his most famous speech, "I Have A Dream” MLK fought for the rights of African Americans in order to gain equality and respect (King, Jr.). Although it has been over half a century since these motivational words were spoken, our country still faces a similar issue today. The "Black Lives Matter" movement is currently fighting against police brutality amongst a minority group that has been fighting discrimination for years. (Petersen-Smith) Even though many actions have been made to diminish racism, there is still a long road…

Racial Segregation in the United States is defined as legal or social practice of separating groups of people by custom or by law based on differences of race, religion, wealth, culture, or sexual orientation (www.worldbook.com). Racial segregation in its modern form started in the late 1800's and provides a means of maintaining the economic advantages and superior social status of the politically and socially dominant group, and in recent times it has been employed primarily by the white populations to maintain their ascendancy over other groups by means of legal and social color bars.…
