Many people believe that kneeling during the National Anthem divides the country and splits citizens into two groups with people that support the action, and people that don’t. For example, “Kneeling during our national anthem promotes division, not healing” (Deasey 1). The action of kneeling during the national anthem has divided the country greatly over the past year. There are many that dislike this action and say that it’s disrespectful, and there are others that say that this action is brave. But these type of things are what draw our nation apart and separate it. We are supposed to be one nation, under God and not two nations. We are supposed to cooperate with each other, instead of finding more things that separate us from one another. Many citizens want to make change and keep the people of this country together.
