While on the field its anyone job to know right from wrong and also how something little can affect the team in a big case of messed up by either saying the wrong word or a look anything can ruin it for it.The outcome for standing up for the rights that are entitled to any person is what the whole thing is about. By making a difference in the NFL community only looks good for the team, but also for the player standing up and showing what it's really about. As a human having the rights to do what anyone might feel that is right will only make them feel good at the end of the day knowing they did something that impacted everyone even some fans as well. This can grow has one team member might feel like there's a need to knee for respect for himself or this team mate. In the Newsela article “Colin Kaepernick has 49ers fans burning their Jerseys” Cindy Boren writes about the current issue in the NFL when Colin Kaepernick took a kneel and refused to stand during the national anthem. She continues to write about the effects that took place shortly after. One fan sent a video of him torching a jersey while the national anthem played, and another fan recording, setting fire to a Kaepernick jersey and scoffed at him telling him to “Get the F out of the country.” However, others think differently of the situation. Colin stated “I am not going to stand up and show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.” Chip Kelly, his coach, supported him protesting. A former teammate Anquan…

There is a significant controversy happening right now in the NFL concerning the National Anthem. During the start of every game the National Anthem is sung, and the players stand up and direct themselves towards the flag and place their right hand over their hearts. Recently, some players have not been standing up, not showing up as in staying in their locker rooms until the anthem ends, taking a knee, or linking arms. Although some might think this is disrespectful, it’s all in solidarity to protest against injustice and inequality. This all started after The President of the United States, Donald Trump, bashed the NFL claiming that the owners of the teams should fire the players who won't stand up for the anthem while using some vulgar…

One thing that I dislike is when some people dishonor our National Anthem by either sitting down for it or kneeling down hint Kaepernick. Anyone can disrespect the National Anthem, but then they have to deal with the people who actually care about the Anthem and our country. After someone disrespects the Flag and the Anthem everyone else goes awol because that specific person isn’t being respectful to the Flag and the Anthem. Like Kaepernick, he had to kneel down apparently for the National Anthem with a few more players on his team. I disagree that the NFL player should be able to sit or kneel down during our National Anthem…

Some fans argue that Kaepernick’s choice of protest is very patriotic and has a deep meaning behind it. However there are others who do not agree with such a stance as stated by New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees who accuses Kaepernick “of insulting a flag that is ‘sacred’, and which has given him the ‘freedom to speak out’.” In other words Kaepernick, instead of protesting, is insulting the symbol that gave him the freedom to protest in the first place. The fans have a valid reason to follow Kaepernick who is sticking up for oppressed people and seeks change. Nevertheless, the stage and method of his protest sparks up an entirely different debate regarding patriotism and how far is too far when…

Megan Rapinoe, a professional soccer player, kneeled during a game on September 5th as a “nod to Kaepernick and everything he's standing for right now”. Another example is a student from Brunswick High School in Ohio who took a knee during the national anthem because he heard his teammates using the “n-word” which caused him to start getting threats at school and in his town. There has been athletes everywhere sitting or kneeling during the national anthem showing that they don't agree that America is following what the flag truly stands…

When San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, took a knee during the Star Spangled Banner, he was automatically booed. After the game, his action went viral and a plethora of fans referred him as un-American. Kaepernick has a unique way of expressing how social, economic, and political problems affect him; moreover, he should not be told that his preferred way of protesting was inappropriate. Colin Kaepernick should not be required to stand during the National Anthem, after all, we do have rights for a reason. Social injustices of the United States are destroying the growth of the Nation.…

Colin Kaepernick is a famous quarterback and took a knee during the anthem and received hate. He should not be receiving hate because who wants to celebrate the death of black people. Our president responded with “Very important that NFL players STAND tomorrow, and always, for the playing of our National Anthem. Respect our Flag and our Country!” Then on Tuesday trump wrote “The NFL has all sorts of rules and regulations. The only way out for them is to set a rule that you can't kneel during our National Anthem!" Later on, on Thursday trump said football team owners are afraid of the players. Our president is not the nicest dude and that is why I am not proud of who we are as a community and state. It is also sad that we voted for him, we chose him, which also gives me a reason to not like our state. Patriotism is showing your flag. Walking down the street I barely see flags, it is just merely that our society isn’t patriotic or is it that we prefer to not be…

The NFL cracking down on these athletes are key situations to effective resolutions, also building trust with the community and stakeholders, while saving the NFL brand image. The NFL like any other sports industry has all taken a huge hit from ethical dilemmas in the past few years. It is simple, that ethics must be the center of attention, focusing the environment, staff, board of organization, stakeholders, that must attain and require ethics. You can tell the NFL as a sports industry stands up to the public and accepts and acknowledges when they make a mistake. That being said, it shows accountability, and respect to the game, also a sincere apology to the critics of the game.…

Why can't they do that somewhere else? Athletes are not shoving religion down our throat, please, that claim is ridiculous. Taken by how he expresses himself about his faith, Tim Tebow is arguably one of most religious athlete around, and this kid isn’t even a pro athlete, yet he is one of the most respected players in America. Tebow isn’t trying to make anyone change religion when he writes John 3:16 on his eye black, and believe me if you are a fan going to a football game, religion is one of the last things you see from the stands. The players are out on the field beating the hell out of each other, however praying, no matter what religion you are, what team you play for, or what the scoreboard says, is majorly a part of the any sporting event. It’s not like praying is showing the players religious belief, since I think every religion prays, it’s just simply a part of the game to take a knee and say some prayers. Think about it from little league to the professionals whenever someone gets hurt you take a knee and what are you suppose to do? Pray that the injured athlete is alright. Rick Reilly, the auther, says it’s alright for an athlete to make the sign of the cross before a play, but that a gathering at the end of the game, were players from both team get down and give thanks that no one was injured and they hope that the next game goes just the same is wrong to him. I am surprised to see an article about this issue. Athletes aren’t priest trying to get you to join their religion, they go and play they’re heart out, and for them to get down on a knee and give thanks after a well played game, it is showing respect, respect to the other team for the most part, that even though in the game we may hate each other, in the end we all feel the same way, glad that no one got hurt and are grateful to be doing something we love.…

    Sportsmanship

Many adults and children have seen it. The player who chargers the mound after they get hit with a pitch, the touchdown celebration after a touchdown catch, or the basketball coach who doesn’t like the call the referee made and goes in a yelling outburst. Thanksgiving is known for many things including eating food, seeing your family, and then finally watching a few games of football. Every year the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys play on this date special day. Year after year regardless of who wins or loses, they always show good sportsmanship especially because they know that a crowd who usually doesn’t watch football every week is watching that day, including little children. This year, there were two cases where there were players who showed real bad sportsmanship. Detroit Lions defensive tackle, Ndamukong Suh, could take full responsibility for one. The 2010 Defensive Rookie of the Year was penalized and ejected from the Thanksgiving Day loss to the Packers for stomping on the arm of guard Evan Dietrich-Smith. This is a prime example of what “not to do”, especially when there are fans that idolize this game. National Football League (NFL) committees released a statement saying that, “The on-field conduct exhibited by Ndamukong Suh that led to his ejection from yesterday’s game was unacceptable and failed to meet the level of sportsmanship we expect from our player”. The actions of Suh were followed by another case where bad sportsmanship was shown, this time by a much less dangerous act. After catching a touchdown, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Steve Johnson took a shot at New York Jets wide receiver Plaxico Burress. After catching the touchdown, Johnson pantomimed shooting himself in the leg, clearly mimicking Plaxico Burress, who shot himself in the leg at a nightclub and was later put in jail for carrying a gun.…

This idea did not save them directly from facing consequences for their actions though. Consequently, it was the owners of the NFL who saved them; this is since the NFL is a private organization that could require if a player is to stand for the national anthem through a contract that would be signed by the said player. It was mentioned by The New York Times that President Trump stated that “the football player should be taken off the field and fired.” As stated by DeMaurice Smith, union executive director, “we will never back down it comes to protecting the constitutional rights of our players as citizens as well as their safety” (Bomboy 3). The NFL has shown true support of its players’ rights as citizens of the United States. Another reason why NFL football players should have the right to their protest is the fact that they are big public figures that can impact everyday society and start a movement better than an average citizen who is never on the televisions of millions of viewers. The football players are furthermore protected by the equal employment laws that prevent discrimination from affected employment, which was passed as the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title VII. The Title VII was signed to “protect workers from retaliation when they oppose what they reasonably perceive to be racial discrimination, even if someone else can reasonably disagree and even if a court ultimately sides with the skeptic” (Sachs). Since this protest is heavily centered on racial and police discrimination against race, it becomes a slippery slope of how to handle the situation without being turned on by players after they were terminated for a possible discriminating…

Similarly, these NFL players truly believe in kneeling and protesting against racial discrimination and police brutality and are risking their careers and reputation to do this.…
