The leading sports industry’s are constantly trying to recognize and deal with these ethical issues which are sensitive to the certain industry and community as a whole. Each try there best to specify any question or concern that anyone could have as the industry try’s to move forward and fix any ethical dilemma. The sports industry is trying to hide certain players payroll expenses, concussion protocols, injuries, sexual abuse charges, felony charges, DUI’s, drug testing, etc. The sports industry is not all about making the money in the short-term, it is more about protecting the game and its industry! The biggest ethical issues that come to mind are: Steroids and Drug Use, Discrimination, Sports Gambling, and Hustling Sports Agents. Yes, most ethical decisions are clear as ice to make, while others are left in the dust, and being a college athlete, I have seen a couple of these already. Athletes are constantly caught cheating, using steroids or performance enhancing drugs. Some of the sports industries are throw out racial slurs, and have discrimination. The most sickening one to me is that a lot of the industry’s gamble their own team’s money, to either make bets on games, performances, etc. Sports agents in the sports industry are the worst, they will do anything to mix up the rules, go rogue before they sign the athlete, …show more content…
That goes from each individual team, coach, players, organization staff, owner, and manager. Throughout many cases in the NFL from Adrian Peterson and beating his son, Tom Brady’s so-called inflating footballs, Ray Rice’s domestic violence to his wife, to Josh Gordon’s marijuana case, even Aldon Smith’s multiple felonies the NFL has stood behind ethical behaviors. They suspended Peterson, Gordon, Smith, Rice all for a year. The NFL still is investigating Brady for that scandal. They have taken each individual to court, and the NFL has had nothing but success in serving justice to the wrongdoings in the NFL association. The NFL cracking down on these athletes are key situations to effective resolutions, also building trust with the community and stakeholders, while saving the NFL brand image. The NFL like any other sports industry has all taken a huge hit from ethical dilemmas in the past few years. It is simple, that ethics must be the center of attention, focusing the environment, staff, board of organization, stakeholders, that must attain and require ethics. You can tell the NFL as a sports industry stands up to the public and accepts and acknowledges when they make a mistake.
