Per our phone conversation, I received invaluable perspective on the range of work I could be contributing to. I realize the L.E.K is the firm to join if I want to have free range of the breadth of industries and project types. Kevin informed me that he has worked on projects in industrials, life sciences, retail, and healthcare contributing to private equity work, new product entry strategy and market sizing. I gained excellent insight into the life sciences industry. I am proud of the industry experience I have gained over the years interning with a variety of companies in different roles. This exposure, which started when I first graduated high school. As a high level overview, my internship experiences have led me to work in the Quick Service Restaurant industry, Medical Devices, Financial Services, and IoT in positions ranging from business development, data analytics, global operations, consulting, and research analysis. I want to continue in consulting to leverage my previous professional experience and apply it as an impactful teammate at …show more content…

As a business analyst, I developed datamarts for retail and financial companies, synthesizing data based on complex business rules. For a pharmaceutical client, I developed a potential-workload balance algorithm to optimize the sales force alignment, increasing profitability by 30%. Working with data, I have sharpened my quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to take loosely defined business questions and translating them into clear, actionable insights. When my grand-uncle died, hundreds of people came to his funeral. Many were former patients; they spoke of how gracious my grand-uncle was. He changed the lives of many people by caring for those who could not afford healthcare. Before I die, I want to better the lives of as many people possible by developing cheap and accessible treatments. HLI’s Student Week provides the chance to utilize theoretical knowledge from scientific articles, AP sciences, and independent studies in practical application. Since the field I am passionate about pursuing is pathology, HLI’s focus on life sciences at a molecular level would be the most beneficial program for me as I would be learning how medical professionals research in a laboratory. I entered school in August of 2009 and did not focus on my studies. After just one year my GPA was a 1.376, because I did not have the drive that I had in high school to succeed. After a couple of years away from Texas Christian University, while attending a 2-year college, I realized what I wanted to do with my life, sparking the motivation I had been searching for. I then decided to return to TCU and fix my awful GPA, which I managed to do with hard work, determination, and appropriate priorities. After one year of nonstop studying and focus, I have managed to raise my GPA to a 2.777, removing myself from academic probation and qualifying for opportunities I was not eligible before. This was difficult for me because I also work part-time…

This is a synthesis of the information from this week’s ASU Online Orientation, including responses to exercises completed throughout the week (i.e. discussion posts, blogs, and assessments). The following is a plan of action for ensuring adequate balance between work, school and life in an effort to achieve success at ASU. To begin, balancing work is the least challenging aspect of this plan for this student. To clarify, I’m not beholden to an employer, rather, I own my business therefore I’m in control of my work schedule and have the autonomy to adjust as needed in order to meet goals in all three areas. The goals for success in my work life are to continue meeting or exceeding the expectations of my client while generating an income…
