Lady Gaga Impact
Lady Gaga perhaps was the most controversial artist alive. She is well known by her daring outfit ( some say inappropriate ) , most significantly the meat outfit when she wore during a MTV Video Music Awards ceremony in 2010. Her intention was to urge for attention toward U.S. military 's "Don 't Ask, Don 't Tell" policy toward gay soldiers. She then said in Ellen DeGeneres 's show( Barrett 2010) :
"If we don 't fight for our rights, pretty soon we 're going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones."
24, and already a legend, in just a few years since her debut, why has she left such a huge imprint on the music industry? Why is she one of the most searched topics on the Internet? Did she bring more good than harm to the society? I believe yes.
Whether you like her or not, you can 't deny the impact Lady Gaga has had on the music industry. Gaga has taken the world by storm, breathing new life into the struggling music industry. Lady Gaga made her standard so high that she basically challenged the other singers like Rihanna, Kesha, Katy Perry and etc to be creative and to take risk in developing music. Furthermore, she indirectly dared them to think out of the box in creating music by fusing pop, electronic and dance. That’s why now we see singers that are creating their own genre. Besides the impact Lady Gaga has had on the music industry, she has also greatly influenced the fashion world. Whatever she wears is most of the time considered anything but fashion. Outrageous outfits and mind-boggling attires are the order of the day for Lady Gaga. She has basically caused people to talk and think about fashion in a much wider dimension or new styles. Other than the public,many artists are taking risks with their wardrobe and even with how they wear their hair. As the saying goes ‘never judge a book by its cover’. Lady Gaga may appear weird to the pupils and sometimes many people misjudge her but we must not forget that she has taken a lot of
