Evaluation
Our Jukebox Musical (by our, I mean Me, Kalianne, Eliott, Fahima and Nicola) Was Based around Songs by the Artist Lady Gaga and we use the following songs: * Just Dance * Telephone * Pokerface * Bad Romance
We don’t know how we came up with this to be quite honest it came out of our heads randomly it turned out to be a success so I am not Complaining like it was a complete fail.
A story arc is how the story goes like at the beginning everything’s normal then as we get into the middle of the plotline we see everything goes mental the arc goes up high as the mentality increases then as we finish the storyline the arc begins to lower itself finishing the story. We started ours as normal a great party nice and enjoyable then Gaga (Kalianne) and Beyonce (Fahima) go again to the
club to see Alejandro (me) and they both try to get with me but the servant (Nicola) seduces Alejandro here the Story Arc has increased to a climax. In the end Everybody gets their true lovers and the story Arc is back down to ground level.
The idea of the story was mainly made by Kalianne Gaga wants Alejandro but Beyonce also wants him the songs were decided by me, Fahima and Kalianne, Eliott worked on ideas for the costumes (which weren’t really fully Prepared to be honest).
When we first devised the Piece we decided the Dances were going to be the Hardest so we first worked on the dancing Nicola was the Choreographer so she had to think of how we did it and that turned out alright they were short and simple. My Movement Memory wasn’t very good though in the Just Dance sequence in the Beginning.
I had no acting part so i guess i failed at that one but the Acts were all improvised because we had forgot the lines we were going to say. And for singing we just had to teach them independently my just dance verse was cut out though by me because i couldn’t remember it on the day we performed it. So i sang a bit of Pokerface instead. In my Opinion I can’t sing at the right pitch in anything we also interpreted lyrics for Bad romance and Just dance and changed a few words in Just Dance instead of saying “conflict” at the beginning of the song, we changed it to “Goo-goo”
(Eliott).
Rehearsals were used to our full extent we didn’t use the Drama studio that much because our music was loud so the Other Groups could not do theirs so we moved into one the Music studios (the one with the Piano). Our rehearsals were like Bloopers to the actual performance. They were real laughs i did enjoy most of them but we improved them along the way and when we decided to do that...scene, i managed well me and Nicola managed to bulk up the courage to do that scene when we rehearsed that scene it was a laugh and so basically i enjoyed the rehearsals the most.
Nicola was in charge of Choreographing her job was to build a dance routine that would fit in with all our songs.
Eliott was in charge of the costumes and what we’d wear to show off the characters we played for example Alejandro needed to look plain Casual person so I’d have to wear Casual clothing.
I Was In Charge of getting the props we only needed a few things such as the phones and the Cards for Pokerface but we thought of just using our actual phones for it and i forgot the cards so i Failed at that job.
Kalianne wrote the script she wrote down where the scenes were put in and when the songs were put in she wanted this job and did a good job of it too.
We all helped to direct this Performance. We did pretty well for ourselves so no complaints here.
We all contributed fairly in our group. I think this is important because everyone should have something to do because if you don’t you are going to be way behind and you won’t know what you’re doing and if you don’t want to then it’s not fair on the rest of the group because they are slaving away for you then. Everybody should take part.
Our Performance would have been alot better if we had remembered our lines and Dance routines clearly but we didn’t we could’ve improved it more by making the scenes between the songs much longer and gave more understanding of the Play to the Audience.
The one thing i wasn’t looking forward to in the actual performance was the Singing because i thought people would find it funny because i can’t sing and in rehearsals i had a sore throat so i really could not sing so that made things worse and put more pressure on me.
Overall my performance had a great Plotline i enjoyed being with the group i worked with but... We could’ve done much better by rehearsing more, remembered the lines as ive said like 3 times already and to give myself more things to say well, give myself things to say also my make out scene with Nicola looks COMPLETELY fake! To improved this we should’ve just done a stage kiss to make it more look real and the card game didn’t really look like an actual card game we jus kept robbing all the cards off other players and randomly putting them down. To improve this we should’ve learned to play a card game and use real cards. The Sex scene with Nicole was the best part of the performance i think because it was the only thing i managed to get courage to do and that is sort of embarrassing to do in front of an audience s ii thinm overall i did pretty we for myself.
