Lanyard Monologue
She walks in the room and he hears this sound and turns around. It was a unique sound of keys banging together. His attention was drawn to the lanyard, it was bright. Everything about these keys made him think. He thought it was strange, nothing has made him think this much about an object before. Thoughts of him running his fingers against the lanyard and among the keys made him shiver. When she walked in sounds of keys hitting together brought it to his attention. They had a distinct sound because they had more than just keys on it. It also had plastic and rubber, which made the sound change. The lanyard didn’t make a sound. Everytime she took a step her keys would hit together and it was hard to focus until she stopped walking. She just stared at them till they stopped moving, he couldn’t look away. …show more content…

He thought he had seen her lanyard before, but wasn’t quite

I pulled my beanie securely on my head as I crouched down on a sturdy tree branch. My hunting knife reflected the dim light of the moon. It glinted letting my prey know I was there. "Yeah, I love a good chase!" I jumped from branch to branch as I chase my target. His brown hair was starting to gray but he ran pretty good for someone in their late forties. At least that's what boss lady said. I jumped down quietly as the man began to get tired. He began huffing as his pace slowed. I knocked into his back sending him into a tree. His chest heavily moved with his ragged breaths. I slowly approached him as I pulled my hunting knife back out. "Let play," I said in a deadpan tone. My eyes lost their light as I stared down at him.…
