Leading Marines When I read Leading Marines, I read about the many foundations of the Marine Corps, that you can be a follower to lead your peers, the distinction between leader and follower, that it takes common sense, leadership traits & principles to know exactly what to do and also to understand what it takes to be a Marine . Being a leader would take many forms under numerous conditions. Many ways for someone to lead would be to harness personal traits and what they learned during their past experiences. They could used their parents, teachers and peers to lead others. Many Marines have a certain technique to teach when it comes to leading one another. Be Technically and Tactfully Proficient: A Marine must know there job, duties and resposibilities along with knowing what their superiors do as well in order to grasp the concept of what to do and what to tell another Marine and he or she must see things a certain way. Seek Responsibilty and Take Responsibility for Your Actions: A Marine should always challenge himself in order to prepare his or herself for professional development.
