Giving service to your community is one of the most important attributes in a person. For example volunteering shows character, self-efficacy and teamwork. Service to your community has many benefits for you and others too. It makes you sympathize more for others and shows that you can put others before yourself. Therefore giving back to your community is essential to being a good community member and a commendable person in general.…

I am applying to the National Honor Society because of its academic value and it may help improve my leadership skills, as well as give me more opportunities to serve my community. As a candidate for membership I feel that I already possess the academic requirements for the prestigious, National Honor Society. I possess most of the traits necessary to be in a member and I am willing to learn and adapt to every situation that I am faced with. I maintain high academics while working up to sixteen hours a week for the business my mother and father run. I also volunteer, with my father, to help the disadvantaged and the elderly maintain their homes and lawns. I attend cheerleading practice for two to three days a week and practice softball, workouts…
Ever since my freshman year of high school, I’ve wanted to be a member of the National Honors Society. Being a part of the National Honors Society meant that I would have done well in both my studies and contributing time in my community. In order to reach my goal, I took multiple honors and AP classes to enhance my knowledge. These classes were indeed rigorous and there were many occurrences where I stayed up late doing homework or studying. During these times I felt like giving up, but the passion I had for conquering my goal burnt too brightly. The hard work I’ve placed on my studies has certainly paid off because now I’m at the top 5% in my class with a 3.8 GPA. Also throughout I’ve helped my community in multiple ways such as volunteering…

The opportunity to become a member of the National Honor Society (NHS) is an extreme honor. I realize that my academic success is just the initial requirement for becoming a member. In addition to strong academics and a commitment to learning, the NHS also requires service, leadership, and character to recognize individuals that are actively contributing to both school and the community. I am not only proud of my accomplishments in all four of these pillars, but also by the positive contributions I have made to my school and the community at large. Maintaining a cumulative 4.0 grade point average through the most recently completed semester is the result of a strong work ethic and a dedicated effort to strive for academic excellence.…
Last year, part of the group and I went to a leadership conference. The leadership conference also helped me look a leadership in a different way. The speakers taught me what it takes to be a great leader. During the conference I learned that every leader has six characteristics and they are resilience, flexibility, communication, courage, humility and presence, and responsibility. I feel that I have almost all of those characteristics and that if the National Honor Society makes these characteristics its main focus, we can accomplish anything we face. If I were accepted into National Honor Society, I would try my best to be one of the best leaders in our school because we need great leaders. Also, I would pour my heart and soul into this group because I care for everyone in the school, and whenever I see anyone struggling, I try my best to help that person and that situation, without causing even more problems for that person. In addition, I would put the other student’s needs in front of my own because that was great leaders do. I would try my best to get involved with my community and the people in it. I would try to start service projects to further our…
The National Honors Society is more than just a honor roll, but an organization that recognizes the efforts made by hard working high school students. I would like to join National Honors Society because it would challenge my development in both my community and my school. The National Honors Society, consisting of over one million students, would make me a part of a large community that could create many opportunities for me in the future. A highly respected organization such as the National Honors Society is very significant to me. The scholarships and programs offered by this organization helps increase my ability to get the education that I desire that I might not have been able to receive due to the rapidly rising costs of college. Every…

I am deeply honored with the opportunity to become a member of National Honors Society. As a student with a 4.3 grade point average, this has always been something I have looked forward to. My grades are my top priority. Classmates in school admire me and call me “smart”, I, in the other hand, do not think of myself as smart. To be more precise, I think of myself as a student that has taken the opportunities given and has used them wisely. I have gave every class my best, and have tried to do all things to the best of my ability. I feel that I am a hard worker. I am a one hundred percent dedicated to anything I am a part of.…
