One day lived a girl named Hyacinth, an ordinary villager of Amatsu; a village filled with cherry blossom trees and is where the sun sets. Hyacinth wanted to become more than what she is, so she decided to train and be a great wizard.
“Hyacinth, Hyacinth! It's past dawn already!” Bright blue eyes opened and narrowed against the stream of light that shone through cracks in the shutters.
“I'm getting up,” Hyacinth grumbled, rising from bed.
She avoided the low beams of the sloped ceiling of her room with practiced ease, getting dressed in a simple gown of pale blue. With deft fingers, she fastened her long blue-black hair with a polished wooden hair pin and padded down the stairs, ate a quick breakfast and headed out the door. She then was ready for her journey. …show more content…
Hyacinth went to search for Kafra in Amatsu, a powerful warper that could create warp portals to those who would want to go to their desired destination.
As Hyacinth ghosted through a white plaster hallway and into a small and bright room, there stood Kafra, a beautiful, pale-skinned woman with neatly brushed and braided brown hair and green eyes. Despite her stern expression, she had an inherent kindness in her stormy eyes, as well as a curious looking
expression.
“Kafra, I would like to go to Geffen.” Hyacinth said kindly. Kafra paused for a moment and studied her. Suddenly, a bright light beamed from her palms and blue rays of light circled the slate-tiled floor. Then Hyacinth slowly entered. She was successfully warped to Geffen –– the City of Magic in Rune-Midgard. “Wow, I never thought it would be this beautiful.” Hyacinth mumbled as she looked around, for the city was built around an enormous tower.
To begin her quest, she must find Arklow, the High Wizard of Rune-Midgard. She wandered through the streets and entered the building with the flag “Wizards Guild” on it. At the end of the room was Arklow, guarded by two crusaders of Prontera in full armour. His features were raven, dark hair, dark blue eyes, and a masculine body. His hair was shoulder length that was pinned down by a pin. As Hyacinth approached him, the hollow clicks of her black, leather boots were heard coming closer as she walked into the giant, clattered room. “What do you want?” Arklow ordered. “I’m here to become a great wizard, master.” Hyacinth replied.
Then a spark of fire developed from Arklow’s hand and appeared a piece of scroll. He handed this to Hyacinth. She opened it as moving letters whirled around and came to a stop, forming words and a name of an item she needs to obtain in becoming a wizard. The items she need are a bloody branch –– a cursed branch –– and the Elixir of Life. Breaking the branch would let the boss monster appear that contains the Elixir. She was then transformed into a mage (magician) by Arklow and was given magic to begin her quest.
As she found her way out of Geffen, she was welcomed by an open field –– green, soft grass beneath her feet and tall trees around her –– as the sun glimmered as it sent out its ray prowling lowly on the surface. She felt a strange tinge in her and saw something in the corner of her eye. Quickly, she looked behind her and there stood a goblin, readily handling a spear. Confident enough to take it down, she used her powers. Flames developed from her palms. Suddenly, she shot fire bolts at it until it got weak and disappeared in thin air. Gold coins fell to the ground and she picked it up.
“This may be useful to me!” Hyacinth exclaimed.
As she went on for her quest, she met an archer named Idun. Idun’s hair covered his eyes in an awkward angle, and from second to second the wind would come back and forth to fix it away. The sun was up high, but the air was frigid, and cold enough to match Idun's heart. Now this kind of behaviour he understood, but that frozen heart of his, he could never reveal.
Hyacinth saw him firing ice arrows into flying apples in mid-air. Of course her heart thudded and blood flowed to her cheeks upon seeing him. But it was beyond that physical attraction, for her very soul recognized him, her essence thrilled to be next to him, to see him again. “Excuse me,” an unfamiliar voice came from behind the blue-grayish head. Idun stayed still for a moment but he greeted the voice anyways as he spun around, “Yes?” “I was wondering if you could help me find me Payeon, the archer village,” Hyacinth’s blue hair collapsed under the sun, but complimented her foolish grin in a way. “It’s just beyond the Greenwood Lake,” “Do you know where to find a bloody branch?” Hyacinth asked. “It is said to be in the cave of Payeon. At the very end of it,” Idun answered with a cold look upon his face. “I could take you there if you want me to. It would also help me in my training.” “That would be great! Thank you so much. I’m Hyacinth by the way,”
“Idun”
Weeks had passed and they finally arrived at Payeon, Hyacinth walked on the soft grass with Idun, who had tagged along to train with her. She looked around, seeing merchants trying to sell potions and equipment for battle and dancers and bards dancing away on the streets.
They went in the cave and tackled out zombies, archer skeletons, soldier skeletons, and vicious bats. Until they’ve reach the end of it and were worn out by all those battles. At last, at the end of the cave there was Fenris, the white witch of Rune-Midgard.
While Fenris was minding her business, she turned on her senses and sat down on her throne, biting into one of her golden apples and waiting…waiting for an intruder. At last, the snap of a twig indicated that a presence has come then she grabbed her bone wand. “Who dares disturb me?” She asked. Fenris stepped out of the shadow, she was a beautiful woman, almost perfect, with long straight black hair that cascaded down her shoulders in shiny locks. Her eyes were of the deepest blue, like the depths of the ocean with a hint of green in it. They were round and innocent. “I, fair maiden, have come to ask for a bloody branch.” Hyacinth spoke. “How could you prove to me that you are worthy of this branch,” Fenris laughed in a sound of tinkling bells. “I have these gold coins I could exchange for it,”
“Bring it to me my dear,” Fenris spoke as she held out her hand. She reached into her pocket and the sound of clacking coins was heard. Then she gave them to Fenris. As Fenris received the golden coins, she slowly got up and held her wand. She spoke in chants and bright, colourful lights came from her wand. Hyacinth and Idun amazingly gazed upon the stream of lights. Suddenly, she was holding a brown almost red branch and gave this to Hyacinth. “Thank you, Fenris.” Hyacinth said as she smiled. “Good luck,” As they were out of the cave, Idun reached into his bag strapped around his shoulder and got the branch. “You ready?” Idun said to Hyacinth.
“I am, if you are.” She smiled and kissed Idun on the cheeks.
He suddenly blushed yet still showed a little coldness in his heart. When they were done preparing themselves, Idun broke the branch and it snapped loudly. A flash of light drew everyone’s attention to them. In seconds, a Dark Illusion had appeared. Lower classes, such as thieves, acolytes, and merchants quickly ran away, not wishing to die anytime soon. Idun started to attack it by shooting blazing arrows at it and Hyacinth casted a safety wall and yet Idun was being hit pretty hard. A priestess that wasn't far away healed him for every hit he received, but it wasn’t enough. Idun started to become weak and the Dark Illusion threw bolts at him and he fell to the ground.
Seeing this, Hyacinth felt the feeling of pain and rage. Her eyes grew dark and she held up her hand as grey clouds developed from her palms, rising in a powerful form. Then the sound of grumbling in the air and the jittering of her teeth was heard. She shot the Dark Illusion with thunder storm, hitting it perfectly and made great damage to it. Her body worked mindlessly at that point to save her life and Idun’s, chanting spells and bracing for impact. She gave her all sending storm gust into the wind and as the Dark Illusion weakened, it slowly disintegrated in the air.
A tiny ball of light rested on the ground. It was the Elixir of Life, the item she needs to be a wizard. She picked it up and suddenly remembers Idun lying helplessly on the ground. Tears rolled down on her cheeks as she let the pain settle in her heart. “What are you sobbing at?” Idun spoke as he smiled.
His cold voice sliced through the howling of the wind. His eyes aren't cold, blank, shining, or even the most brilliant blue. They were alive, even as those cold words pierced the air. Somehow… through some quirk of his eyes, some shift of his lips, he looked concerned. For a moment, Hyacinth felt warm, as though she had walked through winter and felt spring again.
As soon as they travelled back to Geffen, it took them a while to get to their destination with all the people which made it hard to walk, for no matter how wide the streets of Geffen was, it was still packed with different people from different walks of life.
When they got to the Wizards Guild, Hyacinth and Idun went to meet with Arklow to finish Hyacinth’s quest. She opened the door and walked across the hall, her palms were suddenly damp with sweat. As Hyacinth met Arklow’s eyes, he suddenly narrowed his gaze at her. Then she pulled out the Elixir of Life from her satchel and opened her hands. As soon as Arklow saw this, white sparks filled the air as a colourful aura rounded Hyacinth sending her up high, floating. Then suddenly, a flash of light illuminated the room and slowly, Hyacinth subsided to the ground.
She was now a wizard as blue orbs circled around her. Then Arklow handed her a Golden Arc Staff. “You are now worthy to be a great wizard,” Arklow said.
“Thank you, master. I will make you proud.” Hyacinth smiled as she squeezes Idun’s hand.
Looking at herself, to what she had achieved and into those emerald eyes of Idun… everything seemed perfect.
