In the acoustic song “left and leaving” by the Weakerthans the singer sings about him living in a small, poor failing city all his life being sheltered from the outside attempting to leave . Later in the songs he ventures to a bigger city that he hopes to find a better life in and soon realizes that that life wasn't the right option for him. This song talks in a depressing matter since the singer claims that he's lost everything from this and that he's failed himself and the people supporting him.
