Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken” remains one of my personal favorites in spite of many years of literary study. The advice of this poem has helped me to understand that when I choose atypical paths it creates a ripple effect that produces differences so profound I can hardly imagine my life without that nonstandard choice. However, I had to realize on my own that every choice has the capacity to become such a divergence. With this realization comes a certain weight to daily choices, and anything beyond that calls for careful thought and planning. The world is full of uncertainties, but assiduous preparation can produce wise choices that lead to the fulfillment of long term goals.…
We come to life changing trials in our life, some may be a path that we are glad we did while others wished that we can go back and choose the other because of a negative result. In the poem written by Robert Frost “The Road Not Taken”, shows us that making a decision is not always easy. In the…

Life is different than what everybody thinks, they all think that life is beautiful and can give you a lot of good stuff, well it might but sometimes not. It’s actually so tough for some people. In the novel Tangerine by Edward Bloor, the choices that were made by the characters had major impacts on them. Paul struggled with himself that he did not believe in what he can do. His fear from Erik was the biggest impact that changed his life and the choices he might need to take. The choices that the characters made did not help others a lot. Paul’s choices made him gain friends that helped him be more confident in what he does.…
This story relates greatly to the life one faces beginning their career as a college student. Being placed in a new, unfamiliar area creates an opportunity for every person to create a new life for themselves. As one walks into their new life, there are thousands of different paths each person is able to take.…
Everyone has a life full of choices. They have to choose between right or wrong, left or right, and up or down. Choices reflect self-discipline, as well as character. They also permanently affect one’s life, whether it be in a positive or a negative manner. Choices can also dictate whether or not someone reaches their wildest dreams. As everyone has lives full of choices, everyone has dreams. But as all things do, dreams progressively get more and more realistic with age. “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost, and “Harlem” by Langston Hughes are two well-written poems that have similar real-life themes; choices, and dreams.…
My connections look at how certain choices can affect your life forever. The texts that I used to convey this link were The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, Slumdog Millionaire directed by Danny Boyle, The Shawshank Redemption directed by Frank Darabont and a poem by Robert Frost called The Road Not Taken. Throughout the texts used we learn that you cannot always see the outcome of a particular choice unless you choose to go down that path. An important decision is made by the main character(s) in each text and they suggest that not all choices are easy to make and can have positive and negative consequences.…
Have you ever had to make a difficult choice in life. In both stories, “Lather and Nothing Else” by Hernando Tellez and “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost, they had to make a choice. They both tell us that some choices in life are hard to make. The authors explain to us how to make a choice by using point of view, symbolism, and conflict.…
It was in moments like these, when I was in control of my own fate, choosing whether to stay or to run, whether to play it safe or to risk failure, that I learned one of the most paramount lessons of my life.…
Life is about making choices, but some of them can even change our life. Two years ago I decided to come to America for my higher studies in Western Kentucky University. Although I knew it was really a challenge to me, this significant decision that I’ve made was going to change everything about my life and me. There are many things in life that can change the course of a person’s life. It can either make a positive impact or a negative impact on a person’s life. It’s always best to have the positive impact though. For me I have had a positive experience that has changed my life forever and that is coming to a different land and culture.…
The main problem that the Bonkers Chocolate Factory is facing right now is whether to purchase additional equipment for the chocolate plant and what type of equipment to purchase. The Engineering Vice President was proposing implementing a new in-house conching technology and the Manufacturing Vice President was proposing that the company buy a fifth conventional conch machine. The recommendation is that the Bonkers Chocolate Factory implements the new in-house conching technology because the long term benefits far outweigh the short term losses.…
Factories turn human beings into machines. This is the perspective of the narrator in the short story “The Sandwich Factory” by Jason Kennedy. When mechanization is utilized to increase efficiency, factory employees become monotone working machines and individuals become just one of many - a crowd of insignificant people.…
The story is called “The Sandwich Factory”. It’s about a man, who finds a work at a sandwich factory. Everyone has their own thing to do in the factory and go through the same routine every day. We only hear that they go to work, get locked in and go home again when they’re done. It’s why I’ve chosen to focus on the mechanization of human beings. It pretty much describes the world we are in today. Maybe a little too extreme but true in many ways. We, people go to work every day. Usually do some of the same things and then go home again. Many people go to work, to earn money, not because they like it. So does the guy in the story. He works with a mad kid, who shows up with a knife all the time, a woman described as a whore and a boss, who locks in the workers, if they are behind schedule and I don’t think any human would enjoy working there.…
Life is a series of choices, and whatever you choose will affect your life. It can be a small choice like when we decide our direction and it will lead you to the destination, or it can be a bigger choice that can cause a huge event in your life. I want to tell a story about my best friend, Huy who told me that trying, practicing and learning are the keys that can open your door to success. He was just like other people, by having a bad choice, so he made a big mistake six years ago in his life that he could never forget and it also became a good lesson for him to learn how to cope with life obstacles.…
