Liberty University Reflection
Hello, April,
To start with, I appreciate your accounts you have provided, regarding your experience you have encountered while attending Liberty University, as a psychology undergraduate. Also, your illustration of Harris, provides powerful confirmation, regarding exercising the mind. However, I diligently read your thoughts about comprehending the theories of Algebra and not being able to clench the information. My reply would be, give it all to God and allow Him to use you. And, by talking to Him, you are developing a personal relationship with Him. What is more, Jesus desires your attention. For that reason, applying these techniques will assist with your fears of Algebra and enable you to understand the course. Do you agree? Lastly,

Therefore, human must focus on rising beyond limitations, so that the learning experiences can expand within a thought process. Everyday a human must condition their thinking process in adaptable ways of the environment in which they live, whether the situation is a positive or negative experience. For example, at the beginning of the year, while attending Liberty University I was fortunate enough to become acquainted with another student on a personal level. However, as the two of us were in conversation, I happen to mention a phrase about the Bible. I was surprised to learn that the student does not believe in God, without any known reason. I soon began to wonder how I can help with this understanding, while by the same token I fully respect…

This week I have learned lot from Visualizing Learning from Chapters 3, 13, and 14. All the vocabulary words and meaning through pictures all made sense after reading and the examples that were used. I had no difficulty with any of the terms that were used in each of these chapters. I have learned a lot especially in Chapter 14 with Cognitive Therapy and Goals of Psychotherapy. They were self-explanatory and had great examples next to them to help steer me in the right direction. I tend on using what I know out in the real world as well. This week opened my eyes to a lot. In Chapter 15, learning about empathy-altruism hypothesis and egoistic model of altruism, meaning if we had more people in the world that act this way, then there would be less selfish people out there. With different types of therapy out there people do not have excuses on why there is no help at all. Knowing the right people can get you the right help.…

Before attending community college, high school proved to be difficult in a very unexpected way. In my experience, high school failed to present any challenge. I quickly became more interested in things other than schoolwork, which was seemingly repetitive and irrelevant to my goals. Thus, at the start of my Junior year of highschool, I made a critical decision that affected me academically thereafter. Enrolling as a full-time Running Start student at Everett Community College immediately introduced me to a fast-paced learning environment that was more suitable to my goals pertaining to business. Quickly, my grades improved and I became passionate about the things I studied, in both business and nonbusiness courses. However, being a Running…

When I was growing up, my parents took me to church every Sunday. I always felt confident in my religious beliefs and the foundation that it was built on, the Bible. I was never required to prove the existence of God or provide evidence to support the Bible. It wasn’t until I took a college course in Bible literature that I became concerned about providing these answers.…

But, in the words of my spirited friends, “momma didn’t raise a quitter,” so I have spent my entire life crusading against math, the antidote to my joie de vivre. I have worked alongside a brigade of brilliant tutors, all of whom now have expertise in the subject of Consoling a Tearful Laurel. Therefore, my least favorite course in high school has been every mathematics-centered class I have ever taken. I will not claim that my struggle with math has led me to a magical epiphany or has made me a stronger student. In reality, it has given me a ridiculous amount of anxiety even from the start of my academic career. However, my friend Confucius has helped me reconcile this negativity within myself; I need something to balance my obsession with writing, culture, and literature, and math is simply the convenient ruffian to bear the cost of my love. In this way, my toxic relationship with math is almost poetic, and I’m a sucker for good poetry. I am incredibly excited to be the own navigator of my course load, even if that means transferring schools and…

I heard about Barnard College through the Barnard College Saturday Science Seminar Program. My trigonometry and chemistry teachers both recommended me to apply for this program. I am forever thankful for my two teachers because they opened me up to this amazing college. Through this program, I was able to attend various classes: Astronomy, Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, and Mathematics. These classes gave me a new insight to the different subjects and opened up my mind. After going to the first session, I developed a strong liking to the entire surrounding of the school. The lesson of Taste of Delight, taught by Professor John Glendinning was extremely fascinating. His lesson of our taste buds and miracle fruits were something that…
