Chapter 1
Library System

Preface This study discusses the change in the manual library system to a new generation library system. We intend to make a new and more consistent library system mainly for educational purposes. Equipped with a simple search navigation tool that connects all databases for consistent search of data. Consistently browse through the net to view the book’s information i. e. authors, summary, etc. Organized set of books alphabetized and classified depending on its type.

Introduction Library System is a tool addressed to schools or libraries and supposed to help them track the borrowed books. Although you need to first set up a collection of books and people that may borrow the items, School Library System is pretty easy to use, featuring a very intuitive and straightforward interface.
Protected by a username and password, so only authorized access is allowed, School Library System lets you add as many entries as you want, be they users or books. Plus, it sends reminders for unreturned books, so it's pretty easy to track every single borrowed item.
Since it's supposed to work with large databases of books, School Library System also integrates backup and restore database features, just to make sure you're on the safe side all the time.

While the application is pretty easy to use and relies on very intuitive features, it doesn't feature a help file, so users who may get themselves in trouble are left with no other option that to search the Internet for an answer.

The system that we analyzed is all-manual system, even the borrowing and returning of books is needed to be listed manually. We thought that they cannot really track the books that are borrowed because they just list their names and section when borrowing. The librarian is working alone so it takes time to finish all her tasks; sometimes she cannot handle to give the books that are behind the counter that are needed to be borrowed so she lets the student to take it. The books does not have a bar code for security in returning or borrowing, the only key to identify the book is the number written on the bottom or top of the book. The librarian check if the returned books are match to the details written on the paper by the student, which includes the number of the book, that’s the only bases of the librarian if the book is returned by the proper person. On the other hand, if the book does not returned in the exact time or date, the only way that the librarian does, so the student will be cleared, is she will be assigning the student to a work like cleaning the library, act like a book keeper, etc. In other cases like if the book was lost, the student must replace the lost book. There is a difference between borrowing and returning a textbook with a reference book. The student can borrow the textbook until the end of the school year same with the employee, the only difference is the student will write the information in a piece of paper, while the employee have their own folders or records that are stored in a cabinet, all their records are written there including the date and time when the books are returned. The faculty is allowed to borrow reference books until the end of the school year, while students are allowed just for one day. The transactions are very traditional, it is hard to monitor and handle the big number of students borrowing and returning books at the same time. There is a computer in the library which the…
