In the opening scene, we encounter Simba as a baby cub when he is presented to all the animals in Pride Land. Simba literally grows up in front of us, three different actors represent Simba namely, young Simba, teenage Simba and adult Simba. As Simba grows up, he is trained by his dad. It is not said that the prodigal son is trained by his father but it was implied that the father trained both sons because the prodigal son saw the error of his ways and the older brother maintained that his younger brother had been wrong, the prodigal son also had some growing up to do.

We are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27); therefore, we, like Simba should see an image of our Father; and then his father speaks to him from the sky, saying “Simba, you have forgotten who you are, and so have forgotten me. Look inside yourself, you are more than what you have become. You must take your place in the Circle of Life”. In the case of the prodigal son however, he reasoned within himself, both of them eventually came to their senses (turning point). On seeing and hearing his dad in the sky, Simba realised for the first time since he had been away from home that he was his father's son.
