The Evolution of an Entertainment Brand

Introduction:
ESPN stand for Entertainment and Sports Programming Network and president is George Bodenheimer. ESPN command $2.91 from cable operators for each subscriber every month. Compare that $1.67 for FOX sports, 89 cent for TNT and only 40 cent for CNN. The core ESPN channel alone is currently in more than 96 million homes.
ESPN has helped and still is helping sports spread nationwide by showing and discussing things all about sports. ESPN has been broadcasting since 1979 and has been growing ever since. The popular sports channel has allowed many fans that live in other countries to watch their favorite sport teams compete from the comfort of their own living room. Some fans and sportscasters, unfortunately, believe that ESPN has lowered the fan base and is detrimental toward the growth of sports. ESPN is directly responsible for helping sports progress through high quality sports coverage and increasing sports merchandise sales. ESPN is also responsible for saving fans money by allowing them to stay home and watch their teams play instead of paying forty-five dollars for a nosebleed section in the football stadium. This sports network updates daily with 24/7 coverage of all sports, they further the awareness around the nation and the world, and increase a team’s home fan base.
