Liveability is the sum of the factors that people take into consideration when deciding to move into a new area — including climate, education, access to healthcare, infrastructure (freeways and train stations), infrastructure (food and clothes), crime and access to employment. There are many varieties of liveability factors such as personal likes and dislikes, environmental quality and more.Through my research I have analysed the liveability in the suburb of Banksia Grove, throughout the years. This suburb is approximately 27km from the Perth CBD, and 5km from Joondalup CBD.
Liveability is dependant on a variety of factors. Each suburb in a city can have different ratings of liveability dependent the strength of their individual factors. The factors of liveability in Banksia Grove include climate, education, infrastructure (freeways and train stations), access to healthcare, crime, infrastructure (food and clothes) and access to employment. Similar to the education of children, economy is a very important factor to take into consideration when moving suburbs. Banksia grove has the basic liveability needs for humans, although it is still developing. Education is a liveability factor that needs working on as the is no universities or such reliable schools. However this can be a better factor if we have a more reliable education systems such as bringing more experienced teachers to the schools. Hospitals are not within a 5km reach making it difficult if there is an emergency and the traffic is unbearable. To improve this factor we can build a reliable and accessible hospital in Banksia Grove in the future to make it accessible to residents.
