Many people think that personal life and professional life is one and the same, both work are two ways of road and hence should be carried on simultaneously. While some people think that personal life and professional life should never be combined as both are the two sides of a single coin. I agree with the latter statement and refute the former one. I agree with the author’s statement that employees should keep their private lives and personal activities as separate as possible from the workplace.
I feel that one must be equally committed to one’s personal and professional life as well. By this I mean that if due to any circumstances you are facing ups and downs in your personal activities, it should never reflect the work in your workplace or vice-versa. Hence, to work in a healthier workplace and to be committed your work, one must keep their personal lives far away from their workplace.
Firstly, I would give an example to support my point. An efficient hard working employee, who is also my friend, was very committed to her work. On the other side, in her personal life she was a family oriented person. But unfortunately, due to some differences with her husband, she started taking a lot of stress not only at home, but also at office. As a result, she was unable to work efficiently at office; neither could she concentrate on her work. Many deals started going off her hands and therefore she was fired from her office. On the other side, without any job, she again was unable to concentrate on her family problems, due to which her husband got separated from her. With the help of the example, I completely agree that one’s personal life and professional life should always be on two other sides and not handed as a single matter.
