My father’s name is Tom. When I was two I was already an energy machine and always climbed walls. Inside I was destined for climbing. My father was amazing at climbing. He said that when I am older I will reach Everest. I am 8 years old. That day is still awaiting to come. My mother didn’t like how my father climbed. So, they got divorced. I go to my mom every 2 weeks. Today, my dad was taking me to a climbing session. The kids there were about my age. When I got there my heart was pounding like a drum. My father came in and said something that me so happy. He said, “ How about we try to reach the 7 summits. The 7 summits are the biggest mountain on each continent. On Australia people debate which mountain is taller so we will climb 2, Mount Kosciuszko and Carstensz Pyramid. In North America we will climb Mount Denali. In South America we will climb Mount Aconcagua. In Africa we will climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Then, in Europe we will climb Mount Elbrus. Then, the last one will be in Asia. Mount Everest. “Yes.” I thought. So, when will we start our trips? In a few months we will book a trip to Australia. I had to work like a dog to be as strong as an ox for the climbing. I hiked with my dad every day. I took lessons. I did everything I could to practice. Then the day
