Jefferson's decision to buy the Louisiana Purchase is seen as a loose construction conclusion. Since the constitution does not state that the president can buy foreign land, Jefferson was not following the constitution when he made this decision. Jefferson submitted the agreement with France to the senate and after the republican majority ratified the purchase, the Louisiana territory was officially the United States. Jefferson's decision to buy the Louisiana Purchase benefitted the United States…
Following the War of 1812, the American people achieved an after-effect of winning a war called nationalism. With this new American pride they felt somewhat inferior or less than other, older countries such as that of Great Britain. This is shown in Document H, when Adams says that Monroe was not willing to be subordinated by Great Britain. This is also supported by the Monroe Doctrine, written as a warning to the European countries to stay put where they were if they had territories in/on the American continents already but, restricted them from expanding their American “empires” without having to deal with an interception made by the U.S. Moreover, Document C gives an impression of the country celebrating the Fourth of July in a happy spirit. During the War of 1812, Americans defeated many Native Americans in the west opening up the land for the Americans to claim as part of the Westward Expansion as seen in Document E. This expansion was essential because southern farmers needed more land to grow cotton and expand their idea of “King Cotton” and it also helped the people with economic difficulties put on them by the Embargo Act that put a tax on goods from Great Britain before the war.…

The United States split in two would be a favorable situation for the European powers as it would be easier to conquer. The south producing more than the North put the North’s wealth at risk. Jefferson believed in Continental Destiny which was our right to expand across the entire continent and move out west. Because of our thirst for expansion there were many wars that we got ourselves into that could’ve been avoided, but it also expanded our territory massively. The Louisiana Purchase is one of the best examples of how Americans wanted to grow and develop. In the early 1800s American farmers began to settle in the Mississippi River Valley. The territory at that time known as Louisiana was under the control of the French, whose leader was Napoleon Bonaparte. Napoleon wanted to take over the world. In order to feed his army he need land to grow crops and feed his slaves down in the Caribbean area. The slaves ended up having a revolution and gaining control of their land. Since Napoleon lost all his slaves, he decided that he didn’t need the Louisiana land anymore. Napoleon need money because of his war with England, he need to sell the land fast. When James Monroe went to France and offered about $7.5 Million for the Louisiana Port area, Napoleon immediately offered the whole land for $15 Mil. Jefferson jumped on the purchase, and in 1803 he doubled the size of the United States. Jefferson proceeded to then get Lewis and Clark against to explore this area. In Document C, we can see a map that shows the Route that Lewis and Clark took in 1804 - 1806 in order to explore the area.…
The Louisiana Purchase was a huge contributor to nationalism, as it literally gave American citizens more of a nation to be nationalistic about. With the Louisiana Purchase, the size of America was doubled, giving more clout to America as a country, but also giving more confidence to Americans. Agriculture, trade, and exploration could all be increased with this single purchase, as there was now an immense amount of land that could be explored, as well as permission to travel along the MIssissippi River, both which could be utilized to American benefit. Dependency on Spain for trade and commerce could possibly be banished, and discrepancies with France were settled. In addition to this, Americans gained a larger sense of freedom. Citizens…
The Louisiana Purchase had an impact on the young nation. The Louisiana Purchase made young men compete to join the expedition. None of the young men managed to get on the expedition with Lewis and Clark. The impact of the Louisiana Purchase made the young nation feel like there was hope and that there was another place out there. It also made them feel like only men can do things similar to the cavalcade. There were a lot of young women that would have liked to go, but they thought that in general, women specifically could only do housework, cook, and take care of the family. They thought that men, particularly could only go hunting and do the heavy lifting.…
The Louisiana Purchase posed several significant moral dilemmas for President Thomas Jefferson, among these were he believed that federal government should not practice any powers those were not granted by the Constitution. On other hand he stepped up to buy Louisiana territory and he desperately tried to get the Louisiana territory for the new nation but he was not granted evidently to do so under the Constitution. Ultimately, Jefferson was able to make it happened to purchase the Louisiana territory. According to his decisions, he was capable of classifying his beliefs and actions and the significance of Louisiana Purchase he posted on national expansion. Jefferson believed in keeping the United States as agricultural land, and that’s for it required to expand the United States geographically to keep a principled republic. Some people believed that if United States could get too large the republics would not be able to act properly, and unquestionable disagreed. It might be right or wrong even you could say it was constitutional or not, personally I believe that the purchase of Louisiana territory was a conclusive attempt of Thomas Jefferson and that made the nation’s expansion. In addition, it brought up the platform for the settlement and gained the Southwest and the Oregon County.…

The Louisiana Purchase brought much more than land to the U.S. With the presence of France now gone from the states, we rid ourselves of all European interactions within our home. This gave us a sense of freedom. No more influence meant control over us was no longer an issue. We could be free and make decisions on our own.
