Tim Burton is an american director that has created films such as , Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride and Edward Scissorhands. Tim Burton became a film director because his films reflect on his personality.Tim Burton always love creepy scary movies he can relate to the monster, he felt like an outsider and lonely. What I mean by an outsider is Tim Burton had nobody on his life to be there for him or had any friends. Tim Burton has capture the monsters being the good ones the most emotional of the all characters in the movie. Tim Burton’s style can best be describe as dark and gothic. He uses contrast between dark and light colors, flashbacks and camera angle to create this style.

One of the elements that contribute to Tim Burton’s cinematic style is contrast between light and dark colors. A contrast between light and dark colors means when a director mixes the colors and interpret them. What I mean when ‘mixes colors and interpret them’ is when black is white and white is black. For example, in the films Corpse Bride, there is a scene where living are dark, what I mean by dark is there are unhappy and the dead are bright colors what I mean by this is the dead are happy, dancing, singing like there is no tomorrow. In this scene, the director uses the contrast between bright and dark colors in order to show the irony of colors, is opposite the black is white and white is black. Similarly, in the film Edward Scissorhands, the director uses this same technique to show the neighborhood in bright colors, while Edward’s house is dark and dim. In this scene, the contrast color technique is used to create an atmosphere of suspense by making Edward’s Mansion dark and scary you can imagined the audience asking don’t go in there something bad is going to be in there. This helps define Burton’s contrast colors style because is the opposite, the monsters physical appearance are dark but in the inside there are emotional, while the bright people
