Prison: A secure place where somebody is confined as punishment for a crime. What does society think of when they hear the word “prison”? Unfortunately, prison is far more luxurious than people would think. Instead of punishment for breaking the law, prison has become more of a relaxing facility to prisoners. Prisoners are treated with too much leniency because they are given more luxuries than a homeless person would have, and prisoners spend their time in jail doing everyday activities that are the opposite of punishment.
Prisoners are gifted with more luxuries than homeless people. In the article, “How do prisoners typically spend their days”, the author states, “...begins with breakfast around 4:30am...Lunch is around 11am...The third meal of the day is usually around 4pm.” If someone does not find anything wrong with this picture, then something is seriously wrong. Why are convicts receiving three meals a day while innocent people living on the streets are not? If society can feed prisoners, then hopefully people have the heart to feed the homeless.
