“Let you not mistake your duty as I mistook my own. I came into this village like a bridegroom to his beloved, bearing gifts of high religion; the very crowns of holy law I brought, and what I touched with my bright confidence, it died; and where I turned the eye of my great faith, blood flowed up. Beware, Goody Proctor - cleave to no faith when faith brings blood. It is mistaken law that leads you to sacrifice. Life, woman, life is God's most precious gift; no principle, however glorious, may justify the taking of it. I beg you, woman, prevail upon your husband to confess. Let him give his lie. Quail not before God's judgement in this, for it may well be God damns a liar less than he that throws his life away for pride. Will you plead with him? I cannot think he will listen to another.”…

In my personal opinion, and what understand from the review of the lesson, I think Lady Macbeth is a sweet loving and caring wife that only wants the best for her husband (only Interpretation 1). She ensures her support to her husband by telling him that she will take care of anything he hasn’t done. I picture her tone very softly and loving because of the words she uses as “my dear”. Also, in the last sentences only a loving wife will be excited about the possibilities that will come in the future for both of them. Lastly, I picture Lady Macbeth very calm and sure of what she is doing, she wants the best for her husband.…

The theme of betrayal is prominent in Macbeth, illustrated in a variety of incidents throughout the play. It is also common in many articles, current events reports, and even an element of it can be found in artwork and visual texts, which creates a variety of links between these text types and the play. However, Macbeth is tempted by the allure of power, just as Eve was tempted by the devil. Later in the play, Macbeth takes on a role similar…
