Machlan Quotes In English
"Withhold no correction from the child, Lily. If thou beats him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. Do as God says. Lachlan deserves a good punishment."

"You're in a good mood today, father.” She asks as she hands him his breakfast of beer with leftover sausage. Grandfather was always the man who'd have God, guns, gays, and gyno-politics on his mind. From time to time, though, he'll pass some wisdom onto my mother regarding me and how to handle my behavior. During this time of my breathing life, everything I came across with was dull and repetitive.

"Lily, what the fuck type of special idiot are you? I told you exactly how to deal with the boy and you

He reaches out to her giving her a record-breaking bloody nose. As he is behemoth compared to her, she knows better than to fight back, but sometimes I saw my mother slip. All she could ever do was pray, and of course, take it all on me. After all, that's what offspring are for, right? That and having someone fetch your dealer or some milk after it expires. I remind myself the discipline is for my own good and I will use these lessons in adulthood, if I live long enough. "Lachlan! Get out here, now!" She yells while wiping the blood off her nose. "Now, you see, this is exactly what will happen to you if you keep fucking around. Do you understand me?" In my mind, I'm defending myself. In reality, I don’t think I can form any words. She doesn't hear a

After all, I have seen my mother's face in blood because of her attitude. Even if I was fluent in sign it's not like my family loved me enough to learn.

“Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him. Dammit, Lily!”

Before my mother’s death I had a moment where I truly felt love for her, but it didn’t last as long as I would have liked it to. It was my turn to make breakfast. Everything was going well until I felt a shove while taking a beer out of the fridge. I dropped the bottle. There was glass and the blood of christ everywhere. I start to nervously pick up the mess as quickly as possible.

"The bible says a bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the lord and you're still fucking here," said Grandfather. “You should be grateful I feed you and keep a roof over your head instead of ruining everything I love”

“Father, let me deal with the boy. I mean, I did give birth to him.” My mother seems to only show respect for Grandfather.

“You better fucking will. Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. You should know this by now. Haven’t I raised you to be a righteous

As a child, much of the minds of people reflect on bright, bittersweet moments filled with positivity and innocence. However, young children may also have a sense of knowing right from wrong, while feelings of guilt emerge from little to big mistakes. In the passage from “1996”, Gary Soto’s continuous thoughts of guilt convey themselves through a shameful tone, vibrant imagery, and conventional biblical allusion showing that the guilt associated with wrong-doing ends in self-destruction.…

“Let you not mistake your duty as I mistook my own. I came into this village like a bridegroom to his beloved, bearing gifts of high religion; the very crowns of holy law I brought, and what I touched with my bright confidence, it died; and where I turned the eye of my great faith, blood flowed up. Beware, Goody Proctor - cleave to no faith when faith brings blood. It is mistaken law that leads you to sacrifice. Life, woman, life is God's most precious gift; no principle, however glorious, may justify the taking of it. I beg you, woman, prevail upon your husband to confess. Let him give his lie. Quail not before God's judgement in this, for it may well be God damns a liar less than he that throws his life away for pride. Will you plead with him? I cannot think he will listen to another.”…

Since I was a little girl, I went to catholic school and religion was always a big part of my life. I thought of this child of being perhaps a fallen angel who knew of evil and would persuade people to do so. “I will be good,” (261) the child says. Therefore, from a religious point of view, I see this child as one of the fallen angels who wanted to let the people learn about evil and so turn against God.…

“Grandma” was essentially a “no nonsense” woman. Her style of parenting was very intense, and in many ways her strategies were punitive and very restrictive. Her way of justifying this was that she “did not want me to turn out like my father.” I also believe her anxieties may have been a result some unresolved emotional attachments that she had in her childhood. Her mother died when she was 13, and she was raised by a step mother who was extremely strict. My grandmother was very emotionally distant, and her way of showing love was through discipline, and material things. My grandmother had this notion that if she exposed me to a spiritual upbringing, material possessions, and strict discipline, I would not turn out like my father. (Very low tolerance for differentiation) Well…… I did. At the age of 10, I ran away from home, and by the age of 16 I was addicted to crack cocaine.…

The saying "spare the rod, spoil the child" is well-known. It means that children need to be punished for any wrong doing. Some people take it too far and think that it means they should hit their children whenever it is decided they are bad. However, children should not be abused. The saying means that punishment is needed for bad behavior. When asked about the origin of the phrase, people will say that it comes from the Bible. It is true that the notion of "spare the rod, spoil the child," comes from the Bible. The verse is found in Proverbs 13:24. However, none of them say, "spare the rod, spoil the child." They all say that those who spare the rod from their son hate the son. They go on to say that those who chastise, discipline, or give punishment to the son love him.…
