To maintain a healthy lifestyle in a society that changes so frequently, one must stay determined to stay healthy. As I have learned in this course, being healthy is not easy in the world we live in today. Being truly healthy requires work and sacrifice. It may mean that maybe we shouldn’t have that extra slice of cake or maybe we should try to squeeze in that extra hour of sleep. Whatever the small sacrifice may be, being healthy is so worth it because it can improve our overall quality of life. Our society is always advertising a new diet pill, or a new brand of cigarettes, but are those types of things worth feeling lousy and run down? I personally don’t think they are. To “die healthy” I would choose to make the right choices and live my best life I could possibly live. Some small choices I would make would be: to exercise more, have a healthy diet, get plenty of sleep, and remain positive and spiritual. There is irrefutable evidence that regular physical activity can prevent various types of chronic illnesses. Even only 30 minutes of cardio every day can dramatically reduce the risks for cardiovascular disease. Although to some people 30 minutes may seem like too much or they may not be able to take a solid chunk of time out of their day to exercise. There are other ways to fit exercise in a busy day. Even by taking the stairs instead of the elevator can burn off a few calories. The important thing is to stay creative and motivated. Exercise can lead to happiness because when the body is doing physical activity the brain releases a hormone named Serotonin. Serotonin is the chemical in our brains that is most linked to happy feelings and positive thoughts. Doing regular physical activity can lead to better confidence, heart health, body-image, and happiness. Sometimes getting enough exercise is hard and we tend to get lazy. I sometimes get self conscience of what other’s may think
