Make Up Public Speech
Did you know? Women spend an average of $12,000 annually on beauty products. Is it really worth that much? I mean the beauty industry is, worldwide, getting $45 to $66 billion dollars. Imagine if we weren’t spending all that money on makeup, if we could have put most of that money to stuff like charity, we could have changed people’s lives. Not only do we spend too much money on makeup and beauty products, we also spend a lot of time on makeup and beauty itself. Is spending that much time on our beauty good? Spending that much time of your looks can send a message to men that you want them to see you for your looks rather than your personality. But do you? A person’s personality is richer and more in depth then their looks. Your looks are more of a mask then who you really are. On top of all that does it really matter if you are wearing makeup or not? Everyone is beautiful in their own natural way you don't have to cover it up with makeup. When I say natural beauty that doesn’t just mean the perfections in a person’s looks it also counts the imperfections, the flaws within a person’s looks makes them all that more real. So when you cover up your face in makeup you cover up your natural imperfections and end up hurting your looks more than. I know I had already talked personality and how important that is and how spending too much time on beauty will send the wrong message to the men but if you really think about it you don't want people see you just as an attractive figure, you want people to see you as more than that.
Also people think because beauty products make you look good that they're healthy for them, well if any of you think that think twice. There are Campaigns out there for Safe Cosmetics that has been working hard to get toxic chemicals such as phthalates, musks, lead and formaldehyde out of personal care products and beauty products such as mascara, eye shadow and foundation which that may lead to cancer, infertility and hormone imbalance. But here’s your wake up call ladies! It is all fake! Make up ads are typically entirely altered, the skin tone, complexion and color is often entirely painted over to give it the effect that the director wants. This can add color, shine, or cover up imperfections. Everyone is aware that magazines have used super skinny models that suffer from eating disorders or at least look like it, and then on top of that, they Photoshopped them to look even tinier. Models have been groomed to only eat certain things, to go to the spa, to work out, and to spend hours on their hair and makeup. So “real” women shouldn’t feel the need to even try. While it is easier said than done, we women out there need to stand strong and reject the idea that we’re supposed to look like the models and actresses we see in magazines. Average women do not have the time, the money, or the ability to do what models do day in and day…

I used to feel that by wearing make-up everyday I would feel on top of the world. I would have the flawless skin, the long eyelashes and the thick eyeliner. But yesterday I came home from school and I looked at myself in the mirror. I thought to myself, Why am I doing this? Why am I covering my whole face in some tanned coloured liquid? It is definitely a waste of money and I should just be able to embrace my freckly olive skin.…

What would be the life of women without makeup? As I am speaking on this topic today most of you will think I’ll start of with a funny mockery and make you laugh, I’m afraid i wont! I won’t follow the same track! For us beauty works like a drug, and many of us are addicted. The evidence is everywhere and ironically, it is not pretty. Beauty has rewards in our society. Big ones! Society tells women that their beauty is ever-loving important. Put on your make-up, quickly hide your true face with this doll face! It teach them to hate their face and hate thier skin to look at all the other girls and women around them in school, while walking on streets, while working in office and on tv and in ads and teach them to feel like they are monstrosity in comparison. So with the pressures of living up to maternal or domestic ideals, with the oppression of the existing culture of beauty women are forced, they are compelled to ware concealer and foundation and powder on their face, and lie to them selves about what they really look like Now what if they don’t wear any makeup for a change what if they do whatever they want with their faces . will we accept them, will we look at them, talk about them be nice to them as we used to be when they wore makeup NO! we wont! They’ll l be punished by our ideology that is using attitudes , economic pressure, and even legal judgments regarding their appearance to undermine them psychologically and politically So that is the reason why…it’s not a matter to laugh at, we laugh when they wear makeup; we laugh and tell them they are ugly when they don’t! So we should just stop telling women that they should find themselves beautiful and that they should love themselves when we are standing right here judging them on how they may look without makeup, ready to laugh at their appearance I think it’s time for us to realize that instead of telling them to find their inner beauty we should be working hard on not forcing them to follow this oppressed…

Make up has been an essential part of women’s lives for years. Its makes them feel more confident and attractive. It also increases people’s perception of them. Although this is true, recent studies have proven that make up can be harmful to a person’s skin and cause young women and teenage girls to appear much older than they are in reality. If make up is to be used, scientists should eliminate the harmful products in make up and substitute them with something that is milder but just as efficient.…

First of all, the way we perceive beauty is affected largely by the media. Growing up in a heavily media influenced culture; many people believe that being beautiful is synonymous to being “hot”. In movies, the “ugly” girl rarely ever “gets the guy”. The way television portrays beauty is wrong, and hurtful, because it reinforces the idea that to be beautiful, you must be attractive. Beauty is more than just skin deep. The word “beautiful” encompasses the mind and soul of a person, not just their body and face.…

First of all, the differences between the natural beauty and cosmetic beauty is the cost. The first aspect is the cost of products. For natural beauty, we do not need any cost to be beautiful as we are concern of what we have since we were born. For hair care, we only spend a small amount of money to trim and wash our hair. On the other hand, cosmetic beauty would need an amount of money. We know that to become more attractive, we have to put on makeup to make ourselves look better. However, we know that makeups will harm your skin. The only way to ensure makeups make less harmful to your skin is buying branded makeup products which contains less dangerous chemicals and is less harmful to our skin. Branded products are costly but if you want to make yourself more attractive by using makeups, you must accept the cost of the product. Besides makeup, we have plenty of skin care products to make sure our skin looks healthier. Those products are also very costly. For hair care, we might spend a large amount of money to perm, color and do treatment periodically in order for us to look more attractive and younger. For instance, an older man or woman would color their hair black to cover up their grey hair. Next is about consultation cost. Natural beauty does not any consultation cost as all of us know the basic of washing and taking care of our faces, skin and hair. In contrast, for cosmetic beauty, putting on makeup is a skill, we need to learn it from makeup professionals or attend makeup classes. Even for hair care, we could not do it by ourselves as it is difficult for us to look at what’s behind us. Some people might think of going on plastic surgery. The cost might be up to millions depending on the level of surgery. After surgery, consultation visits is a must to ensure everything is alright.…
