Do you know the history of makeup? Have you ever wondered how it ended up being invented or got so popular? Well i'm going to be talking about all of the different types of makeup, how makeup has gotten so popular today, the different kinds of makeup, and etc. How was makeup even invented? I used to ask this question myself all the time but never really looked it up. Once I finally did I found out that according to webmd.com makeup was from the copper and lead ore that the egyptians used to create the world´s first cosmetics. To the scientifically advanced products of today that can do everything from hide pores, smooth complexions, and turn the pale green of your eyes a vivid shade of emerald. There are a lot of different types of makeup girls use. They use a lot of moisturizer, primer, concealer, foundation, eyeliner and etc. approximately 84 billion people buy makeup is us dollars. According to some of the websites I found ancient egyptians used kohl for eye makeup. Romans and greeks stained their cheeks, and elizabethans use tar as makeup. Makeup was very toxic in the 1800’s and a lot of different people use it in different countries, cities, and states. According to hercampus.com some pros about makeup is that it makes you feel beautiful and good about yourself. It’s relaxing and helps people keep their self from being bored, and it’s just fun doing especially when your doing it with your friends and your having a good time. Some cons about makeup is that once you start wearing it and doin it for awhile your not going to want to stop. It does take a lot of time but if you just take your time you will have a good outcome when finished. Makeup is very expensive, and requires a lot of practice and training. Makeup and beauty in society today have become a big part of everyday life. You see the evidence in magazines, tv shows, and on fashion websites. They use makeup in other places such as on stage and in theater. This type of makeup brings out the more fun and versatile side of makeup and the different outcomes you can create and make. The average woman uses a dozen personal care products containing 168 chemical ingredients every day. Men use about 6 products a day, containing 85 chemicals. Back in the day women used to pinch their cheeks to give themselves rosy cheeks before blush was invented. According to (beauty and tips.com) chemicals that are contained in makeup gets absorbed by your skin and in some cases; the absorption rate is faster than if you were to eat the product. There are more than 900 million lipsticks sold in the world every single year. That means that there would be three lipsticks for every single man, woman, and child in the united states, every year. According to (list25.com), around 3000 BC, chinese royalty and upper class citizens both men and women would use natural dyes to stain their fingernails bright colors, from gold to red or even black.
