A teen activist is someone who is standing up for what they believe should be fixed, a teen activist is someone who speaks out even when others are silent, they stand up despite the danger and are heard. Malala Yousafzai, Craig Kielburger, and Alex Lin all are teen activist fighting for different things, but still making changes.
Malala Yousafzai is standing up for girls education. And according to the article Malala the Powerful “ October 9, 2012, was an ordinary afternoon in Swat Valley, an area of rugged mountains and sweeping green valleys in north Pakistan. Malala Yousafzai, 15, was sitting on a school bus with her classmates waiting to go home when two gunmen appeared.” Malala was shot in the head near her left eye and was swiftly taken to hospital. In 2007, Americans discarded more than 112,000 computers daily, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Even worse, just 18 percent of discarded televisions and computer products were collected for recycling.”” Alex started W.I.N. in 5TH grade when he was 9 that was 7 years ago and he’s expanded a lot by putting media centers in other countries, recycling 300,000 pounds of E-waste, but Alex still had trouble like most activist his problem was being heard, passing laws, to have people stop incorrectly dumping E-waste. Alex Lin like any great activist is still working hard and doing what he said he would do. “Work like there is someone working 24 hours a day to take it away from you.” - Mark
