Understand how to plan work and be accountable to others
1.1 Outline guidelines, procedures and codes of practice relevant to personal work
There are a number of guidelines and procedures in place to enable me to do my job not only to the best of my ability but in a professional manner. Whilst on the sales team, there are procedures that need to be followed relating to various aspects of the job including correct procedures to answer the telephone, dealing with making and dealing with enquiries, booking in stock as well as other procedures. All of the procedures are kept in a folder on the bookshelf in the sales office where any member of the team can revise them as and when necessary. In my work place, these general procedures are known as GOPS. They cover a wide range of skills used within any administration part of the organisation. They are available on the system for any staff member to review.
1.2 Explain the purpose of planning work, and being accountable to others for own work
Planning work can be beneficial in many ways to ensure I provide the highest quality work possible. Planning your workload leads to improved efficiency. Planning provides a rough estimate of how your time will be used keeping you organised on a day to day basic. By setting work priorities we can make sure important tasks are taken care of before others, maintaining a productive workflow. You can keep your work organised by using a to-do list. By doing this you are not only planning your workload but also providing a written account of what your job entails for others to see. By doing this you can provide records to investigate and become accountable for the work you have done.
1.3 Explain the purpose and benefits of agreeing realistic targets for work
Realistic targets are important to establish to ensure work is achieved within an agreeable timescale, otherwise it will reflect negatively on yourself or the organisation. It is
