Me: =___= My name is Haruka and I am 15 years old. I am an exorcist in Monster Exorcist Organisation. I'm actually still a newbie. In this universe, there are two worlds. One is the human world, while the other is Monster Trail. Monsters from Monster Trail always come into the human world to destroy the property. They enter this world by using a magic circle. The magic circle is called 'Ale'. If humans get dragged down into the magic circle, they will get killed. Exorcist are here to fight against them. Now that the explanation is done, let's get into the story...
'Hey, Haruka!' my partner, Cath shouted. She has long pink hair which are tied into twin tails. she is 13 years old.
'Ah, cath..oh, Rei is here too,' I said. Rei is our mentor. in the organisation, a mentor who receives an exorcist badge must guide two apprentice exorcist until they graduate. Rei has bandages around him like a mummy. It is also rumoured he is from an Arabian country, or so. he also wields a blue sword on his waist. he is currently 20 years old. Some girls here have a crush on him. why? after he showers in the public bath, he doesn't wear his bandages. his face is fully shown. His face is kind of *cough* cool. I don't know why he hides himself.'Haruka, have you checked our group's rank?' Rei asked.
'Err, no Rei..' I replied. what he meant was mine and cath's test results rank.
'1st rank: Mich & Lyra'
'it seems the child prodigies are top again..' cath said.
'Having Mike as their mentor and being the top in the entrance exams 2 years ago, it's no wonder they are first' Rei said.
We then looked at the other end.
'Last: Haruka & Catherine'
'Rei..we being last, is it your fault?' I asked.
'No! it's just that you were watching anime on the night before the exams!' Rei

We landed at the original Rome, in Italy. Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, and Annabeth Chase, Blessing of Athena, went off on their business on the "Mark of Athena". Frank Zhang, Hazel Levesque, and I are left. I say, "Let's go there". We walk to a store. A bunch of people is staring at us with glowing eyes. We run across, but are sucked into a wall black, very black and end up in a huge room. Frank turns into a bear and crashes into a wall. The floor rumbles. "Frank, come back!" I holler. We get into a circle, and get into a defense position. Then a hidden door opened, and eidolons or possessing spirits come in mannequins. Hellhounds, Laistrygonians and Cyclops, which are giants, came in and attacked. I took Greek fire, or fire that burns on anything, even water. I created a fire wall with five-foot radius. I kept creating spikes, and firebombs. The monsters would not die because the Door of Death or magic doors that stop dead people from not going back to life again, are open.…

Once the announcements for the top ten began for Agribusiness, I anxiously waited. As the number of people called up increased, I was still waiting, and it made me much more nervous. Finally, near the end of the announcements, I was called up. I was quite surprised because I thought I missed too many questions to even be in the top ten. Once I got up onto the stage, it was time to see how well I did against the other FBLA members.…

Mr. Dark is a very interesting and important character. He is the antagonist of the novel, and resembles an evil force throughout the story. Mr. Dark can be physically described “Tall as a lamp post, his pale face, lunar pockmarks denting it” ( Bradbury 73). His body is covered in tattoos of the carnival crew, and he is known as the Illustrated Man because of them. “His eyebrows, his hair, his suit were licorice black, and the sun yellow gem which stared from the tie pin thrust in his cravat was the same unblinking shade and bright crystal as his eyes” (73). His physique is generally scary, because of the dark colors which resemble his personality (licorice black suit, hair, crystal eyes, etc). Mr. Dark is the mastermind behind the whole carnival.…

Maus, written by Art Spiegelman, is a graphic novel that tells a story within a story. The book portrays Art’s father’s experiences as a Jew caught in the middle of World War II. What makes this portrayal especially interesting is the way the Art tells the story in his father’s own words. Vladek’s accounts of what happened to him are displayed within the bigger picture of the novel, which is how these experiences affect his current relationship with his son Art. Maus is significantly different from any other holocaust book I have ever read and I believe it stands out particularly because it is a graphic novel. Personally, I feel that this genre of writing is fascinating and that Maus would not be as effective a piece of literature if the author had not chosen to write it as a graphic novel. Some critics would argue that Art’s comic book style is juvenile and the lack of written text demeans the severity of the subject, however I completely disagree. His choice to visually tell his father’s story through illustrations, portray the characters as animals, and use of language throughout the text is what makes this story jump off the page. Because of these decisions, Maus does a great job of speaking the unspeakable.…

In the 1950’s science fiction collection of stories The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury, there are two stories that express the main idea of revenge and they are The Other Foot and The Veldt. In The Other Foot, revenge is seen when Willie takes revenge on the white people because of how they treated his parents and the other black people on Earth. In The Veldt the children, Wendy and Peter, take revenge on their parents when they don’t let them take their rocket to New York, this revenge builds up until it takes over the children’s minds and they become unhealthily obsessed over it. There are many differences between these two types of revenge that are important to the reader in many different ways.…

The style of the Japanese paintings that were produced by woodblock prints that was most popular between the seventeenth and twentieth centuries was called Ukiyo-e, a.k.a, (floating world). Ukiyo-e wasn’t the only style but it was the most prevalent of them all. Because of the popularity of these prints… they were sold in the small town shops and on the streets going at the minimum of the price of a bowl of noodles. These prints were bought by the elite and collected in albums or glued to their walls. The only participation the Ukiyo-e artist had in the production of their prints was painting them and selling the prints to publishers who reproduced them.…

In “Understanding Comics: The Invisible Art” Scott McCloud demonstrate to us what comics means to him. He mentions that comic have a long history and is more difficult than is often imagined. In chapter three, for example, by comparing and contrasting the different forms of eastern and western comics, he says that comic is also an art worth further studying. The thing that was really impressing to me was his effort of figuring out a definition of comic. As McCloud states, “The world of comics is a huge and varied one.” (4) Comics have a lot potential; It appears to be simple but it’s not. I like the description “amplification through simplification”. (30) in contrast with the real world today, though the words are shorter and the characters…

Fandom-as-religion is a subset of literature within the study of fandom, otherwise known as fan studies. The study of fandom encompasses areas such as media fandom, sports fandom, celebrity fandom, “high culture” (e.g., literature) fandom, and “furry” fandom, to name a few, although any niche area within popular culture has its own legions of fans. The largest body of academic work remains devoted to film and television fandom, also called media fandom, with celebrity fandom being a much smaller collection. As such, certain scholars both stimulate and remain active within the debate over the particular lens of both the definition of religion and whether fandom constitutes a religion, movement of private religion in America, or as a good metaphor for fandom. Given the reality of scholars active within this subset of fan studies,…
