They joined a diplomatic mission to the court of Kublai Khan.In 1296, Maffeo Polo and Niccolo Polo traveled back to Venice, and they and as soon as they got back they started making plans for their return to Khan’s court. The largest world that was ever seen was the khan’s Empire. To those living in the borders of the Holly Roman Empire was a large mystery. In 1271, Niccolo and Maffeo traveled to Asia again, but they brought Marco Polo with them. Their journey was on land, they were forced to go on a challenging journey they went through challenging and harsh land. As they made their way through the Middle East, marco absorbed it’s sights and smells. Marco had to go to the mountains so he could recoup from and illness he absorbed. The Polos had planned to be away for only a few years but they were gone for more than 23 years. Khan gave the Polos unparalleled access to his Empire. In the leader’s court Niccolo and Maffeo were granted important positions. Marco mastered four languages because of his immersion in the Chinese culture. After 17 years the Polos returned to Venice. They traveled on a ship. On their journey home there were storms and people had diseases. Marco Polo was known for his life accomplishments for expanding trade routes and for traveling around the world.
When Marco and his father and uncle went to China they met Emperor Kublai Khan, Kublai Khan was impressed with Marco so Kublai Khan made him ruler of one of his cities. A few years after marco returned to Venice he had a ship go into war against the rival city of Genoa. Marco Polo got captured and sent to Genoese Prison. He met a man named Rustichello, he was imprisoned there too and he was a writer, he helped marco write the book “The Travels of Marco” it was about what he’s seen, where he traveled, and what he accomplished. After he was released from prison Marco moved on and returned to Venice, where he married, raised three daughters and some of his daughters the age of 25 carried on the family business. Marco Polo died on January 8,1324. As he was dying his friends and family members paid him visits. Marco Polo was not murdered, He died at his home, lying down. When Marco Polo died his family was sad and people thought he didn’t deserve to die because he took care of his family and traveled the world. Marco Polo was more popular when he was dead because he wrote a book about his accomplishments, what he saw, and his adventures which inspired people to travel the world or go on adventures just like he did, or accomplish the things he did, or see the things he
did. Marco Polo changed the world by writing a book about his adventures, his life accomplishments, and things that he saw. His book changed the world because his book inspired people like Christopher Columbus to travel the world, and accomplish the things Marco Polo had accomplished, and see the things Marco Polo had seen. When Marco Polo was captured and imprisoned in Genoa. A person named Rustichello, was imprisoned there too and he was a writer, he helped Marco Polo write the book called “The Travels of marco”.
Centuries after Marco Polo died he had received recognition that he had failed to receive during his lifetime. Almost everything Marco Polo had claimed has been verified by explorers, academics, and researchers. Two centuries after Marco Polo’s death, Christopher Columbus, took a ship across the Atlantic ocean hoping to find a new route to the Orient. Christopher Columbus had a copy of Marco Polo’s book with him.
I learned that Marco Polo is a real person because I didn’t think there was a person named Marco Polo because there was a game called Marco Polo. I also learned that Marco Polo traveled all around the world and his parents didn’t really raise him because his mother died and his uncle and father were in Asia or they were mostly traveling the world like Marco Polo did when he grew up. I also learned that Marco Polo and his father and uncle went to Khan’s court and the emperor was impressed by Marco so he made him a ruler of one of his cities and he was imprisoned at Genoa and he made a friend and his friend helped him write a book about what he had seen, where he traveled, and it was about his life accomplishments. After Marco Polo got out of prison he moved on and got married in Venice and raised three daughters and some of them the age of 25 carried on the family business.
