Doctors gave Marie a grim prognosis. They said she would need constant medical attention the rest of her life and she wouldn't be able to walk or even stand up. Luckily for Marie, her mother, Michele didn't accept that prognosis. Realizing that there wasn't any help available in the United States, Michele searched for help overseas.
