I like pushing the frontiers of my mind and have always enjoyed the excitement of a challenge. For me, sports have been the biggest learning ground where I have acquired a lot of my life lessons and gained insight into the workings of the human mind. I love the outdoors and my passion for sports has helped me to explore the limits of my strength, physically and mentally. I have had the pleasure and the responsibility to be a member of the football, cricket, basketball and water polo teams which won many laurels for my school. In my final year at school I was awarded the highest award for contribution to sports called the ‘Sports Tie’ and also the ‘School Colour’ that is the most prestigious award given to an individual for contribution to the school. Being involved in sports like football has taught me how to be a team player and how to communicate and function best within a group. My experience as a sportsperson has given me the understanding to be a good leader who values collaboration and individuality in the people I work with. These characteristics enabled me to achieve the position of ‘House Prefect’, where I had to manage the entire hostel of a hundred boys. Under my leadership my house was adjudged Runners-up in the overall house rankings in the school. Through my involvement in theatre productions, I have realized that I am deeply communicative and that I enjoy working with and around people. I was part of the technical crew and the stage crew that helped set up many stage shows, such as The Night of January 16th by Ayn Rand and The Happiest Days of Your Lives based on the play written by John Dighton. These experiences have taught me the skills of managing limited resources that we were provided with to the best of our abilities to make the shows successful.
