Driving down Interstate four passing threw downtown Orlando I could not help but notice all of the beer billboards, there was one after another, after another. One that particularly stood out to me was the Corona Extra beer billboard. The beautiful white sand beach and the glistening blue water struck my attention right away. I came to realization that these images where everywhere. When I initially saw the image I imaged a beer on the beach in Mexico somewhere and then I started to explore the actual meaning of the billboard. This advertisement was built to yank my attention away from the road and make me think about the beer. The content, framing, angle, focus, lighting, texture, and significance were all carefully designed to make me want this product. Every little piece of content on this billboard has a job. The layout of the image included the paradise beach scene with a frosty beer in the sand and a woman in a bikini lying in the water. Although the advertisement is promoting Corona Extra, it seemed as if it were promoting a provocative young lady lying in the water. She seemed more prominent than the beer. The lady was the center of attention while the beer was placed in the lower right hand corner. Everything was placed purposely in the boundaries of the frame. The women was mid-center lying half in the water half in the sand, the beer was nicely placed to where the logo was visible half in the sand and the catch phrase was placed in the left corner. The slogan read, “Find your beach.” The slogan was in the same font as the logo on the beer but bolded enough to where you can read it on a quick drive by. The sun was reflecting perfectly off the blue waters and the nicely shaped body in the bikini, as they were the center of attention. In the background stood a few palm trees crowded together and the Corona and lime diagonal. The whole billboard was arranged evenly and symmetrical. Every piece of the image seemed to be distributed

The typical Corona commercial we see on television has basic elements that are present in all of them. These basic elements are a beach, with crystal clear water, flawless sand, isolation, and of course a cold Corona beer. In a particular Corona commercial that I had analyzed goes like this, it starts with the signature beach, that’s completely isolated, with calm crystal clear water, and sand that is so clean you can eat off of it. Next it starts to zoom out and the Corona beer comes into the picture between a young woman bathing in the sun and a man skipping rocks along the water, while the man is skipping the rocks his phone begins to ring. He is about to go for another rock but grabs his phone and then there is a slight pause, he then skips the phone along the water like the rocks. The woman then brushes her hair back with her hand and continues to just relax and be attractive. Then the commercial ends with its signature slogan, “ Relax Responsibly”, on the bottom.…

    Drink Driving Ad Campaign

    • 827 Words
    • 4 Pages

This ad campaign focuses on informing the population about the very strict consequences that result of drink driving through their slogans. They use slogans on their posters such as “How much will your next round cost you?” with 4 different alcoholic beverages portraying these penalties. This is an interesting picture as people tend to view labels on alcoholic beverages, seeing the list of ingredients, finding its alcohol percentage, or just reading the manufacturer’s message to their consumers. This picture uses the same tactic as the manufacturers do, but instead promoting their campaign and the risks of driving under the influence. People noticing the poster get the urge to read it and they will have a higher chance of re-thinking the next time they have the opportunity to go drink driving.…

Irony is the secret weapon to get the point across for this advertisement. There is a green eyed blonde with a low cut "little black dress" caressing her flawless body with her arm around a martini glass filled with milk. She is seductively leaning against a glass covered wooden bar with a luring gleam in her eyes. Her and the milk are the main focus of this advertisement. In the background is faded liquor and wine bottles. While looking at her you cannot take your eyes off of…

Advertisements have become a big part of our daily life, and we see them wherever we go from walking in the city or to driving on the highway. Some of these advertisements put a spin on something old such as an image or phrase, and it will catch peoples eyes. This is just what Guinness did with one of their beer ads that reads “Enjoy responsibly. Phones down, please.” The layout and color of the phones on the bar counter are put in that spot to make a glass shape, The company shows all three different appeals mostly trying to persuade buyers. Guinness has made an ad that puts a twist on everyday objects and phrases, uses colors of phones to create an image, and uses appeals to persuade people into getting a stout.…

I liked the idea of picking an ad that had such a clear message that there was no need to include text to further explain the message. I think it adds strength to the message and makes a bolder impression on the reader or audience. I think the props used in this photo are so simple yet so powerful, if you look there really isn’t a whole lot of things going on in the photo, it’s pretty simple yet the message is so striking. I think the simplicity really adds to the overall theme and…

    Woman Running

The organization of the stimuli appears to be disorganized at first glance. However, when you take a closer look you can first see a woman running. The women appears to be the figure-ground of the poster, because it is generally the first things that grabs the audience’s attention. You can see the women running on the well-known cancer ribbon weaving from one side of the poster to the other, looking almost like a path. Another way to look at the woman running, is as though she’s running towards the city of Des Moines. The pink and white lines behind the city landscape add to the background of the power. It appears almost to look like an explosion behind the cityscape. All of the stimuli are in close proximity to each other, making them seem as though they all belong together. This advertisement also shows closure. This is done by giving the basic information about the date and general location on the even. However it leads the audience to register online for the event, which will also lead the customer to a specific time and location of…

My name is Andreka Wilkes and I am a part of the RSO at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale called SAVE OUR PLANET. Our president of our organization has launched a new campus community initiative advertising project concerned with water management and environmentally friendly behavior by marketing companies. In this project we will be analyzing an advertisement relating to water using some methods we have reviewed in class. The ad I will be analyzing is called Greatest Wonder of The Sea by Green Peace. Overall, the ad does a great job at getting their point across to stop pollution in natural water environments, and also they effectively connect with their target audience. I will go in depth and totally break the ad down to be analyzed. I will do this in three sections: Physical Appearance, Analysis, and Evaluation.…
