Hooch was a big junkyard dog, his fur was patchy and he slobbered everywhere. In the beginning of the movie Hooch hated everyone but his owner. As time went by he got comfortable with other people, especially Scott. The theme of this movie was that environment is very important to behavior, and Hooch is a prime example. When he lived in a junkyard he acted vicious, then when he lived in a house he started to act friendlier. It took time for Turner and Hooch to change to the new environment, like when Hooch destroyed the house and Turner tried to shoot him for it. While watching the movie several people around me kept talking about how they would treat the dog, which made me think that by showing how mean people are to this animal the movie puts the audience on the side of the dog. So by making Hooch a bad dog, and showing how badly he is treated, actually made the viewers like him even
