Effects of Mass Media Mass media helps in connecting people and brings the whole world into our view. Mass media includes print media like newspapers and magazines, electronic media like radio, television, movies and new digital media like, internet, and blogs. The history of mass media is very long; it goes back beyond recorded history to the people that figured out that they could reach a larger audience through drawing pictures on cave walls rather than just telling the story to whoever was around at that time. Before the development of printing, all media documents had to be hand written and only the more fortunate people were able to receive the documents. Printing machines produce multiple copies of a document at a very fast paste. This evolution produced more copies so more people could receive media documents, and not only the more fortunate. In America, the gradual transformation from the printing evolution, to the development of the electronic and digital era has made media messaging and communication more instantaneous. The development of the electronic and digital era is a major influence in American culture. In America, a faster way to send messages and communicate is always better. Radio, television, and the internet connect with an even larger group of people and faster.
